I traded Michael Young for Nick Markakis. (1 Viewer)

It's a 10 team, weekly head to head league. We play 2 different teams each week our scoring is sort of like a 5x5 league but a little different. We deduct a point for K's, HR's are 4 points, etc. It gets a little funky but Young and Markakis were close in fantasy points for the year. My thinking is that I didn't need another SS. I have Rollins as my SS and I was using Young as one of my utility guys (we can use OF guys in the utility spot too). My OF, however, needs a little boost with Burrell and Griffey being so-so.

Thoughts?

Burrell is so-so? :penalty:

1.028 OPS, 17 hrs, 43 rbi's and 39 runs

Pretty sure Burrell is a little better than "so-so" by my count he is 7th in the majors in OPS, 5th in obp, t-5th in hr's,

Your trade is a wash imo. If I was fully confident that Rollins would stay healthy all year and repeat, or come anywhere close to last year's numbers, I would do that trade in a heartbeat. As it stands, in a 10 team league, I'd be willing to bet that the waiver wire is much deeper with available OF'ers than SS's, and I am not a big Rollins fan.

g'luck

I know Burrell is having a very nice year but he's cooled down IMMENSELY and who know what he'll be hitting in a month or two. Markakis will probably fill in for Griffey right now.

Burrell has a tendency to get the bat going after the all-star break. Especially this year, as he is in a contract year and has been deemed the "50 million dollar mistake." He will play with a chip on his shoulder and walk into free agency.

i just traded Carl Crawford for Markakis. So that should make u feel even better about that deal

You got a deal, he lights it up after the break, I think a 1.2 something OBP if i remember right... thats nuts... and he isn't doing so bad right now either

Besides not needing steals so much, Carl Crawford went to Dr. James Andrews about his hammy. He isn't driving the ball, and I feel its because of that hammy. There's a problem there. He also offered to serve his suspension without even appealing and has asked to DH. Add that to a sore knee and I'll stay away.
