Ideas for Draft Order (1 Viewer)

So this is our third year doing a live draft local league. Last year we did and Easter egg hunt for draft order, this year we were going to do a piñata and have one of the guys son break it... But that isn't possible now and we weren't really all that creative to begin with. Anyone have any fun ways to determine draft order?

Do a normal draw....but instead of #1 getting the #1 pick...they get first choice of which pick they want.

Put the draft pick numbers on a dart board and throw darts for draft order

(edit to add: you could either make the numbers on the slips visible, or not)

I think it was the Howard stern show where they all took the Wonderlic test and based draft pick order on highest to lowest score.

In one league that I'm in we use the state lottery drawing to determine the order...there is a mid-day and night drawing. You are randomly given a time slot/day. Then it goes from the highest 4 digit number down to the lowest. That determines the draft choice order...then we pick draft slots from there.

We do a lottery system. We try to reward the best players though instead of the worst. Everyone starts with one ping pong ball. Throughout the year you can earn extra balls for things you do. Each week the team with the most points gets a ball, end of season best record gets a ball, end of the season most points gets a ball, highest single game point total for the year gets a ball, all the teams that make the playoffs gets a ball, every playoff game you win in the winner or losers bracket gets you a ball, NFL pick em pool winner gets a ball. We have a Pro Bowl in week 17 where the two divisions play against each other and each team must have someone represented in the starting lineup, each team in the division that wins the Pro Bowl gets a ball. We have a playoff league and the winner of that gets a ball. Throughout the year we can even come up with other stuff that earns you a ball like winning the NCAA pool. Then at our summer meeting where we discuss new rules and draw for draft spots, we put all the balls in a pot and start drawing. The first team drawn gets their choice of draft spot. The next team chooses their draft spot and so on until the last team drawn takes the draft spot that's left.

How about letting owners bid a draft pick for their draft slot? Lowest draft pick offered wins the first pick, second lowest gets the second pick, etc. Tied bids get a coin flip to decide the order. Also, draft shouldn't be serpentine. Bids could be blind, or done live, auction style.
