IDP Dynasty Stash thread for 2018 season (2 Viewers)

2018 version:

DL
Emmanuel Ogbah - from the "non-IR leagues" that may have forgotten about him.
Kony Ealy - miscast in NYJ 3-4 and only 25 years old.  Pray he goes to a 4-3 team with a need like TBB
Interesting PFF tidbit on batted passes.

Go to the link for the graphic  TEXT:

  1. Cameron Jordan - 10
  2. Kony Ealy New Orleans - 9
  3. Carlos Dunlap Cincinatti - 7
  4. Emmanuel Ogbah Cleveland - 6
  5. Denico Autry Oakland - 6

Nobody batted more passes than Cameron Jordan in 2017!

12:47 PM - 26 May 2018

Ogbah was injured so his came in 10 games but Cleveland's D was on the field a ton so Ealy had more in less snaps however you have to figure in game scripts and the fact he only played with Miles Garrett for three games and in those three games they combined for 6 sacks which bodes well for this season, jes say'n.

It appears that Washington SS Deshazor Everett is currently at 2% Add in MFL. I haven't been able to find any news about him through google or twitter that would support this, and it seems he is still just DJ Swearinger's back-up. Anyone have some insight here?

On the second team unit, Greg Stroman got some play on the outside opposite Fabian Moreau with Deshazor Everett and Troy Apke taking charge at safety.

Wouldn't that make him Nicholson's backup?  I'm not sure why we're even talking about a 195 lb 2nd stringer when there's a 22 year old starter ahead of him - that's the guy I want on my dynasty team.

Thanks guys. Guess some places have the depth chart wrong with Everett above Nicholson. MFL/Fantasy Sharks is projecting better stats for Everett as well.

First year playing really deep IDP dynasty and pretty much looking at anything with the hint of a pulse. Very helpful to have you folks here pointing me in the right direction.

Im hearing some whispers about Ahmad Thomas playing the tweener LB-S spot in Green Bay with some first team reps. And playing very well.

He is listed as a DB on rotoworld. Listed as a LB (#56) at packers.com. Not listed at all on Ourlads. Was a practice squad player last year.

Not sure if Josh Jones is doing that Packer hybrid position anymore, or if he is purely the starting strong safety at this point.

Interesting...

This can happen a lot because these are just fillers from the prior season.  Current/recent projections, in particular IDP, are tough to find and nigh impossible this early.  I like to use Rotowold depth charts as they are the closest thing to current.  They are updated pretty frequently and are much closer to reality as they use what they see on the field during OTA's, minicamps, and training camp.  They also happen to be the official position determinant for MFL, so if a guy is listed at a certain position on Roto it will eventually hit MFL.  This is a highly watched/discussed topic in these forums and I suggest you keep up to date on that one, you'll get some bargains and steals that way.

Ahmad Thomas is so deep he's gone through the bottom of the pool and doesn't appear on MFL......... 0.o
Yeah....no sign on MFL, listed as ILB on Rotoworld GB depth chart but click on his bio and he's listed as defensive back #56  :loco:

That Steeler ILB Tyler Matakevich has run with the first team and ahead of John Bostic through every single practice session thus far.

To be fair -- Tyler has had over 2 years in the system, while Bostic has had 2 months.

That Dallas safety Jeff Heath is playing much closer to the line and often over the TE as what is considered more of the strong safety.  This would be taking over for Byron Jones who has gone to CB full time as the #2 opposite of Chidobe Awuzie.

Should play very well for Jeffs tackle #s if it sticks.  He was already quite proficient with 63 solos in 14 games last year. But he had almost no assists (8) playing that far back. Jones had 3 times as many (24). Heath was already 13th best safety at solo tackles in '17, despite missing two games and routinely being the deep man on defense. 80 solos is obviously within reach.

DE Alex Okafor participated in his first walkthrough for the Saints.

A really good sign this early in his recovery from Achilles surgery.

Don't anticipate him getting much opportunity especially after adding Mychal Kndricks this year so file this away for the future if/when he gets a shot.

SI MMQB player to watch

Here’s a name to watch in Cleveland: Fifth-round LB Genard Avery. The Memphis product was the talk of the spring on defense for the Browns and adds to a crew that brings back Jamie Collins, Christian Kirksey and Joe Schobert, and just added ex-Eagle Mychal Kendricks.

NY Giants rookie DT BJ Hill... is getting first team reps.

The DE in their new 3-4 alignment but is being used at DT/DE hybrid on pass rushing situations.  As they will also slide Olivier Vernon into a 3 point 4-3 front with Hill as a DT.

The play here is rookie DE Al-Quadin Muhammad.

I picked up both Okafor and Muhammad (straight to IR) in off-season.  Okafor as upside bench help for a season, maybe two. AQM for the talented long play. He flashed 4 sacks in the preseason.
With both Jordan and Okafor not playing preseason game 1... Al-Quadin Muhammad started in Jordans place at LDE.  And it was Trey Hendrickson starting at RDE. All reports say 1st rounder Marcus Davenport is struggling.

Last year after Okafor going down, they used a lot of Sheldon Rankins out of position at DE. Doesn't seem as if they will have to use that option this year.

Genard Avery talk is based on solid play.  He's going to make it and he is already in on pressure packages.

They drop him in coverage at times to confuse the QB but he's second only to Myles Garrett in terms of pure pass rush ability on the team so he 'could' change his designation to DE in the future.

Right now he is a legit IDP sleeper in big-play sack leagues.

Good start.

In on more than 50% of the snaps, a sack and forced fumble in first NFL game.

Browns’ defensive snap counts, stats, and PFF notes: Week 1

LB Genard Avery 43 51% 3 tackles, 1 assist (4 combined). 1 sack, 2 QH, 1 FF.

The underrated weapon of the game was rookie Genard Avery, who seemed to be seeing action as more of a pass-rushing defensive end and played 51% of the snaps. He had the forced fumble in overtime (which initially appeared to be an interception for Schobert) to give Cleveland a shot at winning the game via field goal.

The Kendrick release helped a lot, but good to see he's already getting snaps.  The question for him was always "at whose expense?".  I was skeptical it would be at Schoberts - interesting that it's mostly at Collins' and surprised Kirksey is so low.  It's just one game, but it's a very interesting trend to track.
