EJ Henderson gets a "relief" bump. There was talk of Henderon being moved to SLB upon the pending departure of Claiborne. With Napolean Harris on board, I'm guessing Henderson will stay in the middle while Harris mans the strong-side.Henderson  Danny Clark also gets a nice bump. With Harris gone, Clark instantly becomes the best LB on the Raiders. Yes...Clark posted the better stats last year, but please keep in mind that Harris destroys Clark from an "athletic" and "measurables" standpoint. Clark will now have even less competition on his way to the ball carrier.Clark

No chance of Dontarrius taking the strong side and Harris playing the weakside?I like Harris, and he can fill any spot. Problem is the Vikings need three of him right now to fill out their 4-3. :bag:

damn now the vikings have too many potentially great LB's. EJ, Dontarrious, Napolean (a.k.a. Butkus), Claiborne, Newman, Nattiel, etc...what are they to do????? best defense EVAH.

what are they to do?????
Tell them to pull Dontarrius' head out of his butt! I've got him on another dynasty team and it would be useful if he didn't get benched everytime he gets back in the line-up.You're in Kid... NOOOO!!! Don't do that!!!

Sit over here for the rest of the game...

With Napolean Harris gone, who will take the WLB spot for Oakland? Will Travian Smith get the starting job back?

Harris is essentially a protype SLB. The guy is fast/big enough to 1.) rush the passer (he was a DE for Northwestern until being forced into the OLB gig), 2.) take-on blocking OL and TE's, and 3.) mask TE's and RB's in pass coverage. Thomas does not have the ideal size to play SLB, even though he's more than fast enough.

The Raiders' 3-4 does not have a true WLB. Harris played a hybrid ILB/OLB position for OAK last year. I'm assuming the four starting LB for OAK in '05 will be some combination of Danny Clark, Tyler Brayton, Sam Williams, Travian Smith, and UFA/draftee. Clark and Brayton will probably never leave the field, while Williams and Smith could split time given the situation. Look for the Raiders to add somebody via UFA or the draft to play ILB next to Clark.

This looks like Minn adding another just "so-so" talent LB. They better get another defensive player with Oakland's draft pick.Harris was a constant source of frustration to me when I owned him in the past. I don't foresee him making a big splash next year. I'm actually hoping that Henderson stays in the middle and flies below most owners' radar. He got hurt early and was never really himself this year. Every game I watched, he seemed tentative and a bit reluctant to get his jersey dirty. You could really see that he was trying to avoid reinjuring the knee.IMHO: Low impact. Now, if they acquire another massive DL to go with Williams, that could provide more protection for the LB's and that would probably make their average LB's produce some decent numbers.

*post-draft bump*

Any further word on EJ Henderson's role with Harris now on the team? The official depth chart has EJ behind Harris at MLB. Is this valid?
EJ now gets a  with Sam Cowart on board. Even though Cowart is not exactly turning heads, all accounts point to him being the starting MLB on opening day. It wouldn't surprise me if EJ Henderson is now the backup at all three LB positions (WLB, MLB, SLB)...even though R Smith has been getting reps with the 1st team at WLB ahead of D Thomas.

The last I heard was that Napolean would take the middle, Cowart would take one side, with EJ and Dontarrious battling it out for the other side. That was right after the draft on the radio, so it probably doesn't hold any weight.
