I'll update this post when I've sent your invite. If you haven't sent an email/PM by Saturday evening or signed into the league by Sunday afternoon, I'll replace you with one of the alternates.***

**Offensive scoring will include PPR. Defensive scoring will be league dependent as above. Scoring system can be found at the MFL league site. All offensive lineups will be QB/2RB/3WR/TE/PK with a single RB/WR/TE flex to total nine offensive starters. All defensive lineups will be 2DE/DT/3LB/2CB/2S with a single DE/LB/DB flex to total 11 defensive starters. All owners will draft 38 players during a slow MFL draft to begin Monday, July 27th. Initial draft order will be generated randomly and will not be final until I've posted it in this thread. There will be no positional restrictions and no trading of picks/players during the draft. The draft will have a 24 hour clock, but prompt drafting and the use of the predraft function is strongly encouraged and appreciated.

**Owners will not submit lineups. The best available lineup will be scored from your entire roster of players.

**This season's contest will be an all-play contest. Each team will play every other team each week. Total wins and losses will be added up over the eight week "season". The three teams with the highest record will advance to the final leg and draft immediately following MNF of Week 8.

**Prizes will be awarded to the top eight finishers in the final league. A full set of rules for the final league will be posted well in advance of the draft start.

Good luck everybody.

Pick 2 was a mild surprise, though not that huge of a surprise. their OL has drastically improved, and betting on lightning striking 3 times on a guy as talented as SJax is anybody's guess

i'm just happy that michael Turner somehow made it to 1.12 for me. Yeah, I know, PPR, but damn, other than AD, he's as guaranteed a shot at 1500/15 as any RB in the NFL. I'm pleased with my first 2 picks, let's pray I'm pleased with 3.12 and 4.01 as well! :goodposting:

is this thread open for draft discussion?
Sure. Most folks won't go too deeply into their picks yet, however. We'll usually start seeing a little discussion in the 4-6th rounds, a little more halfway through, then a burst of debriefings after the draft ends.

ok, well we're in the 10th round, still no peeps out of anyone, of course we're flying through the draft

I'm picking from the 1.12/2.01 slot, so far I have

Peyton

Burner (Burger?), Felix Jones, Mendy

Megatron, Eddie Royal, DeSean Jax

Mario Williams, Terrell Suggs

Karlos Dansby

toughest choice I've made in a draft in ages was at the 3.12/4.01 turn. I absolutely labored over selecting between the 2 I took, along with Pierre Thomas and Kevin Smith

I almost never choose a QB that early, but when you're looking at 20/6 scoring, that's huge value at QB, so i went for the sure thing. I was going to go with Rodgers, but I went with Peyton primarily because I was hoping to grab Cutler as my other QB due to possible upside and his late draft slot, but that didn't work out quite so well, so Meh.

Some surprises of the draft - Willis going at 4.04, Jared Allen going at 4.10, Lynch lasting almost until the 5th round and, thankfully, DeSean Jackson lasting until the 7.12 slot, which REALLY made me smile. :lmao: Welker getting all the way to 3.09 really broke my heart, as I was all set to nab him up at 3.12. Woodley also went a bit early (before Morrison, Mayo, Lofton or Dansby)

still great value on the board, and onward we draft...

Too many secrets still to be hold

All I can say is that my RB core while being the worst in the league is better than last year at this point since I took Maroney. I could draft Artose Pinner and get the same production. Love the rest of my team though. 2 nice QB's even if on the same bye week, crap RB's, great WR, nice TE combo and no D. Sounds almost like last year except for good to great WR core.

I wound up going WR/WR, which I regretted immediately. WR/WR in best-ball format? Not too bright. But if I had known I would have gotten the backs I did, I never would have doubted it:

QB:

Shaub/Matt Ryan---Shaub has no bye during this contest, and I love his schedule. Ryan is growing on me, I just wanted a backup that stays upright, and is in no danger of losing his job.

RB:

Ryan Grant

Darren McFadden

Derrick Ward

Chris Wells

Michael Bush

Bernard Scott

James Davis

Considering we can start 3 RB, getting this RB crew is silly. If Bernard Scott or James Davis takes the job from the bum in front of them, all the better.

WR:

Randy Moss

Reggie Wayne

Roy Williams

Steve Smith (NYG)

Chris Henry

Percy Harvin

Moss, Henry, and Harvin were all targets of mine because of the best ball format. You don't want to start Henry every week, but he'll hopefully have three big weeks in the first two months. Getting Roy where I did was just a bonus.

TE:

Zach Miller

Doesn't have a bye week, and will be a steady point performer. Would have loved Olsen.

DT/DE:

Cory Redding

John Abraham

Andre Carter

Aaron Schobel

Steady Schobel, and sack potential from Abraham. Not too many DEs this year, it seems.

LB:

Brian Urlacher

Will Witherspoon

Derrick Johnson

Thomas Howard

Anthony Spencer

Zach Diles

man, considering how long I waited, I love my LBs. Favorite pick is Derrick Johnson, who I think is a lock for 100+ tackles. Like Spencer in best ball format.

DB:

Ed Reed

Bernard Pollard

Jim Leonhard

haven't taken any CB yet, and that's fine. Ed Reed in best-ball? Fo sho. Pollard should get a ton of chances with the front 7 he has to cover for, and I think Leonhard is a ballhawk.

Mass that is a pretty good looking team overall. Even though I still want to go 2-4 each and every week

QB: Rivers, Cutler, Flacco. The highest scoring position in league and I want to make sure I get nice points. I love the trio

RB: Brown, and my PPR specialists(Sproles, Faulk, Norwood) and Duckett. Okay my RB's are average but you know I like them overall in PPR. I hope just one of them just has a good game each week in the end to go with Brown. Certainly one of the weakest cores in the league

WR: Well if your weak in one spot, your good in another and this is it. I love the Fitz, Jennings, Housh, Coles and Holmes lineup each and every week. I got James Jones as my last(sniped on Micheal Clayton),

TE: Clark, Keller. Wow another strong unit

PK Kaeding and one more to come. I dont mind the unit. Could suffer on each bye week a little but just PK

DT: Okoye. With his bye in week 10, I will only carry one. No other guy worth picking up. I would have carried xtra O if not for the injury

DE: Okay I was the last team to take D and am very happy with outcome. MY DE looks good. Vandy, Ogun are solid 1-2 punch. I like the upside of both Harvey and Barwin. Probably early on Barwin but I get excited about what I read. Well worth the risk

LB: I was loving my starting 4 until I was the unfortunate Bradley owner. I was going 6 and had to draft 7 instead. Bradley, Merriman, Rivers and Sims was too solid. But than the Bradley injury. So I took Jordan to step in and hope he fills the void. Gooden is a young guy I think can step up in Scott's shoes and Gholston is hopefully a big sack guy who will score nice or nothing. Still like the core but hated spending 7 picks here, One more for WR would have been nice instead

S: I think I might have been last to take a S and I love my group(and more I like out there). Merriweather is an emerging star. Dawkins is solid vet. Bethea seems to score well each year. I really like what Tyrell Johnson will bring also.

CB: Dont have one. Will draft 3 or 4. Not sure yet. Drafted them as my last 4 and got Bartell, Ross, Houston and Marlin Jackson. If I had not gone away would have gone with just 3 with 2 guys not missing. Very happy with this crew for waiting till the end.

Overall if my PPR RB's step up each week, I like my chances of advancing in this league again.

Jene,

I've studied the League Rules for lineups in all of the Survivor leagues and I only see provisions for 10 IDPs in each, no IDP flex. Am I missing something? I know your intention was to have 11 IDPs each week.

The MFL website makes it very difficult to show IDP flexes in the league rules setup. The rules state 20 starters, show the offensive flex, but no defensive flex. The 20 starters are QB/RB/RB/WR/WR/WR/TE/PK and an offensive flex to total nine starters and DT/DE/DE/LB/LB/LB/CB/CB/S/S and a defensive flex to total 11 starters.
