IDP Waiver Watch? (1 Viewer)

I'm new to IDP and still learning the ropes. Here are some guys that might be available even in relatively deep leagues (most of mine are 16 team with 8-10 IDP starters). I thought it would be good for me to share this list, and if anyone has anyone to add that might be flying under the radar would be much appreciated!

DL

Justin Tuck - he's rostered in many leagues already given the Strahan situation coming into the season, but if he's available seems like a good pickup. Produced last night and is assured a starting spot with Osi out for up to 2 months and Strahan hurting. I've been a fan for awhile, and he has the same sort of buzz here in NY that Osi was getting before he broke out. (Obviously they're not quite the same kind of player, but I'm just saying he's got a positive buzz here sort of like with Cotchery last year.... )

Jarvis Green NEP - Another that has been pimped here for awhile. 2 sacks, 5 solos and an assist. If Seymour is really out this year, he could produce.

Kenyon Coleman, NYJ - he was all over the place in yesterday's game. 10 solos + 2 assists seems like great numbers for a DL. Why did he have so many? Was he lining up as an OLB at all? I know we zone blitzed a lot which might have helped?

LB

Antwaan Peek - light on the tackles, but lots of big plays. Already tagged as a IDPool sleeper :)

Brandon Chillar - decent good tackle #s aside from the fumble.

James Harrison

DB

Jim Leonhard - see other thread, with Whitner out might be an option.

Jacque Reeves - "rookie" CB theory here? with Newman out, you have to expect them to target him, and the Dallas offense proved potent.

Revis

So, anyway, I realize every league is different, but who else should be on the radar?

I agree with James Harrison. He is strong, quick and a good tackler. I wouldn't be surprised to see him put up 50 total tackles and 8 sacks.James Butler S, NYG. Taking over for Demps had 6 solos and 2 asst yesterday. Good play for those is large leagues where you have to start a safety. Here are a couple threads discussing him.

Oh, right, forgot about Butler... I've already grabbed him awhile back but mostly because I was scrambling on crappy teams :lmao: Did Atari play well enough to hold off Rouse? He might be on this list as well, decent stats this weekend.

Leonhard and Coleman are the two I am very curious on. Tackles are usually a good indicator for a IDP, but should we believe this output? I am thinking of trying to get both.

I think you've seen season high games from both. Significantly higher than what their baseline will be. Unless you're really in a bind, I'd let someone else get dragged down by the coming 3-1 and 2-0 games.

Rouse was inactive, and from what I've heard from Pack fans, Bigby looked good.

Bigby looked really good, except for a hit on Al Harris that hurt Harris' shoulder.

Tuck looks like the guy to get with Umenyiora hurt.
word out of NY is that kiwanuka will move back to DL
Link please?
Giants | Wilkinson may start if Kiwanuka is moved Published Tue Sep 11 12:20:00 p.m. PT 2007 (KFFL) Colin Stephenson, of the Star-Ledger, reports New York Giants LB Gerris Wilkinson (knee) may start at outside linebacker if LB Mathias Kiwanuka is moved back to defensive end to replace DE Osi Umenyiora (knee).Looks like speculation.

That's an understatement :bag: New York Giants LB Gerris Wilkinson (knee) may start at outside linebacker if LB Mathias Kiwanuka is moved back to defensive end to replace DE Osi Umenyiora (knee).

So... the big question is the "if" there :)

By the way, why wouldn't Torbor take over the SLB role? He's listed behind him on the depth chart, with Wilkinson listed behind Kawika Mitchell at WLB. I realize depth charts are what they are, but I thought Torbor was a pretty solid OLB?

In spring Kawicka Mitchell was listed as a possibiity for strong side, then they moved Kiwiu

How has D.J. Williams looked in the middle for Denver? This sorta slipped by the IDP crowd here but take a gander, the Broncos signed Jamie Windborn. He's undersized but he's looked decent when he's been given a chance in the past. He had injury issues and has bounced around but with Nate Webster and now Windborn, I'm wondering if a move back to the outside is in the works for D.J. so does anyone have insights on how Williams looked? The stat line read pretty well but I didn't get a chance to watch the game.

I don't see Williams moving outside. He's the only player on that roster that fits the Bates mold at MLB. He may not be an all-around game-ready NFL MLB yet, but he's playing well enough. Winborn was signed because the team has no depth at linebacker and may have lost reserve Louis Green for awhile with a concussion.DJ Williams, like Ronald McKinnon and Danny Clark before him, is on his way to be called the "worst" 95 tackle MLB of the year. I suppose it's because Broncos fans loved Al Wilson and Williams has been relentlessly pimped as the darling of the offseason upgrades. Maybe he's not as good a player as the hype made him out to be, but he's not as bad as the preseason criticism would suggest either.

Paris Lenon? I know you said Mirage, but Bloom seems to think it's not?
Lenon's a value. He's been in on a number of tackles. I watched him some this preseason and he was good SL to SL and I don't recall him coming out that much (but hey, preseason....)Against running teams like MIN and with short passes a likelihood, I'd start Lenon this week.

FWIW, I'm in between the Guru and the Bloom on Lenon. I think you pay attention to any 4-3 MLB but that Lenon won't sustain that kind of LB2 production. Matchup looks nice this week. Pick him, hope he goes nutty, then sell him high to get a safer LB2 option.Rod Marinelli said Lenon was the second coming of Brian Urlacher this offseason, so, you know...
