If Greg Lewis wins the # 3 Wr Job over Galloway (1 Viewer)

This could be very interesting, I think Lewis will have some value..... any thoughts on Lewis and the # 3 job :jawdrop:

Both will make the roster and will divvy up the points, making both worthless.

As an Iggles fan, I think the absolute best you can hope for from Greg is the last WR the Pats took from the Eagles - Jabar Gaffney. Who had very little value fantasy-wise.

Really the best sleeper WR on the Pats is Julian Edelman. PPR leagues he could win you a lot of early games if Welker is out or limited.

I after wahcing Lewis in Philly I have a hard time viewing him as having a successful fantasy season.... no matter who's throwing the ball./

I think they'll both get a job and get to prove themselves, and hopefully Wes Welker has another productive season. :lmao:

I rostered Lewis in a couple of draft and go best ball leagues. He won't be startable in a standard league, but will have a couple of 100 yard games with a long TD.

We've come a long way from the Greg Lewis thread...so sad. :goodposting:

Galloway seems to be a lock for WR3, still has his speed by all info I've heard, and has recently stopped dropping everything brady was throwing at him.

I think Lewis is depth and nothing more.

Here's the numbers element to all this . . .

Galloway has a career average of 15.7 ypr and 1 TD every 8.8 catches. The folks that I have asked on this project him for 25-35 receptions on the season. That would be a range of roughly 400-550 yards and 3-4 TD.

Compared to the other WR3s over the years in the Brady era (meaning the third most productive receiver) . . .

Gaffney 38-468-2

Stallworth 46-697-3

Gabriel 25-344-3

Brown 39-466-2

Branch 35-454-4

Brown 40-472-4

Branch 43-489-2

Glenn 14-204-1

I can't say that any of that makes me warm and fuzzy over the Pats WR3, no matter who it turns out to be. As far as Galloway goes, he and Brady aren't on the same page yet and Galloway has dropped a number of passes in the preseason that hasn't exactly helped his cause any.

Overall, I'd probably say that expecting much out of Galloway or Lewis is probably more wishful thinking than anything else . . .

If you're in a IDP league, Lewis will likely help out with some Special teams tackles - assuming all players get points for tackles. Still unlikly to be useful.

Long way to go to catch up
