Since the FA pickings are so slim, I am thinking about grabbing Gaffney "just in case" one of those guys goes down.

I wouldn't call it "unquestioned" but Gaffney knows the system real well. Troy Brown is looming on the horizon for the late season and will be in the mix as will Chad Jackson, I'm sure.

I think it is Gaffnety without question. He's been used in spots, and he's usually pretty reliable. He had huge playoff games last year, so he's proven. But with Brown potentially coming back, we'll see. I still think its Jabar. Washington is settling in more as a solid special teams player and 5th on the depth chart. This is a big week for Chad Jackson. He came off the PUP list 2 weeks, so NE's 3 week window to decide what to do with him is now down to one week. So, we'll know his status fairly soon. Brown hasnt even been brought off the PUP yet, and at whatever point that is done, this week if its going to happen, NE will then have another 3 weeks to decide what to do with him. Personally, Id like to see Jackson ready to play, but I dont expect it.
