If Osi Umenyiora gets traded ... (1 Viewer)

I was bored so I created a post about Osi Umenyiora getting traded.

http://www.keeperleaguegm.com/osi-umenyior...stination/5959/

Long-shots:

Atlanta:

MLB: Curtis Lofton, Coy Wire

OLB: Stephen Nicholas, Mike Peterson, Sean Weatherspoon

Nicholas or Peterson are out of a starting gig with Weatherspoon in town. Peterson’s age and Nicholas’ underwhelming career and not worth Osi alone. But at least someone with starting experience could be available.

Houston:

MLB: DeMeco Ryans

OLB: Brian Cushing, Zac Diles, Xavier Adibi

Cushing and Ryans are not going anywhere. Perhaps the Giants could take either Diles or Adibi, plus something else. Osi would look good opposite of Mario Williams.

Minnesota:

MLB: E.J. Henderson, Jasper Brinkley

OLB: Chad Greenway, Ben Leber

EJ was once an elite linebacker, but injuries in the past two seasons have derailed his career. Maybe the Vikings want to move on with Brinkley. Think Osi would look good opposite of Jared Allen?

Tampa Bay:

MLB: Barrett Ruud

OLB: Quincy Black, Geno Hayes, Angelo Crowell

Maybe, just maybe, Crowell can stay healthy? If the Bucs like their LB depth, perhaps Black or Hayes could be available.

Makes a lot of sense:

Cincinnati:

MLB: Dhani Jones, Abdul Hodge

OLB: Ray Maualuga, Keith Rivers, Rashad Jeanty, Brandon Johnson

Cincy spent a high pick on Maualuga last season. They could slide him over to the Mike, and send Jones back to New York where he started his career. The Giants would definitely have to get something extra in return.

Cleveland:

ILB: D'Qwell Jackson, Chris Gocong, David Bowens, Eric Barton, Kaluka Maiava

OLB: Matt Roth, Scott Fujita, Marcus Benard, Jason Trusnik

D’Qwell is furious at Browns management, or at least that’s the posture of D’Qwell’s agent. A long term deal seems to be unattainable. The Browns have a stable of serviceable linebackers. Their not stars for sure, but they could probably do the job. If D’Qwell’s pectoral is healed, he would make a super target. Osi would be asked to stand up in the 3-4 scheme and attack the passer like DeMarcus Ware.

Jacksonville:

MLB: Kirk Morrison, Justin Durant

OLB: Daryl Smith, Clint Ingram, Freddie Keiaho

DE: Aaron Kampman, Derrick Harvey, Tyson Alualu

You don’t trade for a middle LB of Morrison’s caliber to have him be a situational player. Keiaho was signed hours ago, further confusing the Jag’s depth chart. Someone will lose playing time. Harvey, Kampman, and Osi would make a nice D-line rotation with 10th round pick Alualu primarily kicking inside.

Kansas City:

ILB: Demorrio Williams, Corey Mays, Derrick Johnson

OLB: Tamba Hali, Mike Vrabel, Andy Studebaker

DJ barely played last season. Week 17 might remind folks that he could be solid – 5 solos, 4 Passes Defended, 2 Interceptions, 2 TDs. Osi could fill the Chiefs’ hole opposite of Hali

Miami:

LB: Karlos Dansby, Channing Crowder, Reggie Torbor, Tim Dobbins

OLB: Charlie Anderson, Cameron Wake, Koa Misi

A common theme is developing here - players disgruntled with their teams, or vice-versa. This is all about Crowder. The OLB in Miami is poor. Seems like a potential match.

Green Bay:

ILB: Nick Barnett, A.J. Hawk, Brandon Chillar, Desmond Bishop

OLB: Clay Matthews, Brady Poppinga, Brad Jones

Packers’ management have been raving about their linebacker depth for the past two seasons. If they want to get the younger guys on the field, now is the time to trade Barnett or Hawk. Osi could address the rush linebacker spot, the one some Packer fans argue should have gone to rookie Sergio Kindle.

Seattle:

MLB: Lofa Tatupu, David Hawthorne

OLB: Aaron Curry, Will Herring, Leroy Hill

This one makes the most sense. Hawthorne has to be on the field for Seattle. Send Tatupu and change to New York for Osi.

I'd love to hear your input. Post here or there. Thanks.
