I voted RB16-20 based on him assuming 200-250 carries, with LJ getting upwards of 350. Surely he would get solid reception numbers as well to bump him up to RB2 numbers IMO.
FYI, there is a 0% chance Priest comes back. This is the guy who had been contemplating retirement the last two offseasons because his heart wasn't in it. Now he's got the burden of risking permanent spinal/neck injury should he play again.
Not a chance in hell.
Ok, I changed "if healthy" to "if doctors clear him".The statute of limitations ran out 3 years ago on legally being able to use "healthy" and "Priest Holmes" in the same sentence.
It does not appear that he can even find a doctor to let him play, he hasn't been able to work out, and it's been months and months from when his injury happened. There was talk several weeks ago about placing him on the PUP list to start the season (meaning he would have to miss the first 6 games). Add in that Larry Johnson is now the clear starter.
Based on all that, I can't vote in the poll, because I just can't see Priest being "healthy."
I'm guessing 500-600 total yards and 5-6 TD. Probably around RB40.Ok, I changed "if healthy" to "if doctors clear him".The statute of limitations ran out 3 years ago on legally being able to use "healthy" and "Priest Holmes" in the same sentence.

0%? As far as I know, there is still uncertainty. So I would not say 0% until a decision has been made.I voted RB16-20 based on him assuming 200-250 carries, with LJ getting upwards of 350. Surely he would get solid reception numbers as well to bump him up to RB2 numbers IMO.

That's the last thing I would expect to do if he came back. Let the young one fight for that last yard. Priest can do some work between the 20s.IF IF IF, well then I'd worry about LJ getting pulled near the GL as Priest has quite a nose for the endzone
His current ADP is RB48 and 139th overall. Not sure I would take him in the 12th round in a 12-team league.I don't know where I'd rank him, but I expect very little from him. He'd be a nice "steal" pick - if you can get him late.
I wouldn't take him over anyone who's established or likely to produce
Certainly a valid point, but Edwards is not going to give Holmes carries just because he's Priest Holmes, which is what #### Vermeil did. Herm doesn't have that kind of blind loyalty; at least not yet.IF IF IF, well then I'd worry about LJ getting pulled near the GL as Priest has quite a nose for the endzone
Jacket+Islander,I don't neecessarily disagree with you. I would think (months ago) the Chiefs were thinking if Herm takes over this team one of his priorities has to be to find a way to keep our RB healthy. "The RB" is clearly Larry Johnson now. Some coaches have used 3rd down backs to do this, some have used GL backs. My fave is Lebeau putting Brandon Bennett in for a series to rest Dillon. It was great and ya didn't even notice it in Dillon's stats. I guess I'm saying in this "what if" scenario that Priest WILL play and IMO that's a lock. There's gotta be great concern in KC about keeping their main RB healthy.Certainly a valid point, but Edwards is not going to give Holmes carries just because he's Priest Holmes, which is what #### Vermeil did. I would not either if I drafted today. But RB48 includes the uncertainty of his return. If doctors clear him, I think this instantly shoots up to at least RB35.His current ADP is RB48 and 139th overall. I think the more interesting question would be if Holmes came back and Johnson got hurt, who would get the majority of carries? Would they throw Priest back in there or would they be considered he should only get a few carries a game?I would not either if I drafted today. But RB48 includes the uncertainty of his return. he's not coming backIn my mind it would be pretty clear that he falls somewhere between RB31 and RB35 in my redraft rankings, but I am curious to see if the range of possible opinions is wider than I think.
I don't think so. There are a number of rookies (playing behind veterans) that I'd take over Priest Holmes and there are a handful of other veteran backup running backs likely to produce and help a team more than he will; Mike Anderson would be one example. I don't believe he's (Anderson) all that good, but I question Holmes' abilities after all of his injuries and with his age.He would obviously be the top backup running back in the game
IMO, Priest would not be the one to take over for LJ. Several teams have guys they want to get in the game for 5-10 carries but they are not the #2 guy if an injury happened. For example, there's talk in Denver that Dayne would be the starter and Cobbs would take over if Dayne got hurt. But Tatum Bell would get the same workload in either situation. (At least that's what I saw a cuple of months ago.)This is all probably a pointless debate, as I really don't see Holmes coming back.He would obviously be the top backup running back in the game and Larry Johnson has yet to carry a full load for a season. Johnson is a beast so I don't forsee an injury, but anything can happen.
