If the Cowboys go 6-0 where would they be in the power rankings? (1 Viewer)

yes I am a Cowboys fan and let me first say that I do not expect the Cowboys to beat the Patriots week 6...

but I can't help but to think "what if".

so if Romo pulls this one off and somehow magically the Cowboys are able to hold Moss to just 1 TD and win this thing...where would they be ranked?

would the Cowboys be considered the best team in the NFL?

would this end any talks that the AFC is far supierior to the NFC?

would the Colts be considered the best if they are still undefeated?

where would the Cowboys fall as far as power rankings are concerned?

Have to say no. One good team in the NFC does not end those talks.

Listen.

Dallas will beat the Patriots.

Dallas will be #2 in the Power Rankings.

To be the man, you have to beat the man.

And right now thw man are the Colts.

If the Colts are still undefeated, I'd give them the nod and put the Cowpokes at #2. Otherwise Dallas deserves the #1 spot.

Keep in mind we're talking power rankings, which are meaningless for anything other than bragging rights. So although I've answered your question straight up, it's not like I care too much how the rankings shake out.

Patriots 31 Cowpokes 17 Splat!!!!There's no D in that defense.....
Terrence Newman, Greg Ellis, and Tank Johnson should end any talks of that...
as long as Tank doesn't shoot someone after practice he should be a solid player...

Tell me why he'll make an impact in the NE game

he is gonna pop a hot one in Moss's ### before the game...no he won't be available true...

but Ellis and Newman should make a big impact on that D...and then when Tank does come along the Dallas D should be pretty solid...

They would not only be the team of the decade, they would be acknowledged as Gods playing among unworthy mortals. As they ascend to their rightful place in the firmament all fans of other teams will have the scales fall from our unworthy eyes and we will see, in a blinding flash of insight, that Cowboy fans were not the most obnoxious possers in the world, but rather were prophets of a new age.

:goodposting: The Cowboys last year played the AFC the best of any NFC team, losing only to the Jaguars in Week 1 and beating Houston, Tennessee and Indianapolis. They were the only NFC team to exceed 2-2 in the four interconference games. The AFC went a cumulative 40-24 against the NFC in interconference games.2006 Interconference Play among playoff teams:The 6 AFC playoff teams were 21-3 against the NFC.The 6 NFC playoff teams were 10-14 against the AFC.In interconference games between playoff teams, the AFC was 7-1 vs. the NFC.The only NFC playoff team to defeat an AFC playoff team was indeed by the Bears 10-0 over the Jets in Week 11.I expect that the 2007 numbers will not be quite as strong, but I still suspect you will see a distinct overall advantage to the AFC. So far this year, it's 8-6 in favor of the AFC.Of course, this doesn't mean that the NFC cannot have the best team or that the NFC team cannot win the Super Bowl. However, either of those situations would not necessarily indicate that the NFC is equal or superior to the AFC in and of itself.

That was so 15 years ago. But, just like bell bottoms and hip huggers, we're back and you're stiff about it. Embrace America's team. It's the American thing to do... :pokey:

If they're 6-0 and so is Indy, the Cowboys would be No.2 in my book.

Indy is the champs and someone needs to beat them before they get knocked off NO.1

That is my feeling with Florida in the NCAA as well. You may think or believe someone is better, but you have to beat the Champ to be the Champ.

And......that's a BIG BIG IF to be 6-0.......I'm not even sure we'll be 5-0 when we head into the NE game. There's so much talk about the NE and Dallas game we need to just take care of some business at hand.

The Cowboys beat the colts last year. One point for them. The colts have one of those jesus freak lunatics for a head coach. Another point for the cowboys. The cowboys have a top notch qb that is exciting and fun. Another point for the cowboys. I already would rank the cowboys ahead of the colts.
