You HAD to have 2 of the three elite Rookies WR's: Julio Jones, A.J. Green or Greg Little

or

You HAD to have 2 handcuff RB's: Michael Bush, Ben Tate, Javon Ringer, Jerome Harrison

You don't have any of the following on your team: Darren McFadden, Arian Foster, Chris Johnson or Javid Best

You're asking a general question about a specific instance. This year i'd take the WRs because I think they are special (this is the first year I've ever had drafted a rookie WR on any of my teams i think, and i've got at least one on every roster so far- the value has been there). Any other year your mileage may very, and of course it completely depends on the rest of your roster and scoring.

I prefer talented starters over average back-ups.

Didn't really matter if this pertains to redraft or dynasty to me. But for some, you may want to clarify.

MBush is a little different. He can put up points even if DM is playing.

I like my OWN handcuffs but wouldn't waste time with someone else's.

What about Tate? With Foster having a tear in his hammy. Those injuries tend to linger as well. I think any RB can put up great numbers behind Houstons o-line.

Maybe you got what you were looking for - although I still can't see what it is/wasIf you want better answers you could give us more information and tell us why it has to be one or the other.....my preference would be Julio and one of the RB so I'd like to understand why that isn't the consideration?

It's a hypothetical situation. It's a redraft league and you have to start 4 RB's/WR's with at least 1 in each group. So 1-3 RB's and 1-3 WR's. For example you could start 1 RB and 3 WR's or Vise Versa, etc... You have to have either the Rookies or the Handcuff RB's and you don't have the starters. Which would you choose?

I actually think it's a pretty interesting hypothetical, but I'm going to join the chorus saying they'd take the WRs.

The WR's however why isn't their an option C to take 1 of the WR and 1 of the handcuffs? Most of us would do that.

Because if you have to have one or the other there isn't another choice. Someone is holding a gun to your head and is telling you to take the rookie WR's or the handcuff RB's. Which way do you go?

Okay - the handcuffs - there will always be receivers on the waiver wire but starting running backs will be harder to find. In addition, most rookie WR aren't worth much in their first year so in redraft it is pretty clear to go with the RB. Julio is one of a few exceptions but with good WR I would still add to my RB pile

I'm gonna back track from yesterday. The listed WR's should not even be on the board when any of the handcuffs discussed are being drafted. Even if I owned the corresponding starter to the handcuffs, I'd rather have the WR's. Plus, I can draft the handcuffs 5-7 rounds later, or in many cases get them off the waiver wire. But since it was posed as an either or question, the answer the WR's hands down.

In other years it might be closer, but there is a reason that the two guys listed went top 6 (and had teams aggresively trying to trade up to get them)
