If you owned Adrian Peterson in a dynasty league (1 Viewer)

I've read some posts about this being the time to get all the value you can from Peterson and some posts about what people have turned down.

So, if you were to own AP in a dynasty league, what would it take? Has he really reached LT's preseason untradable status? What is the minimum RB you'd need in return and what else?

I wouldn't trade him for anything. I love this guy on my team. Unfortunately I own him in a redraft and I'm hoping I get the #1 pick next year to have this guy once again on my roster.

Dude offered me LT2 in exchange for ADP and Bush. Don't even think I'd do it straight up for LT2 at this point which is saying something.

Have him for $22 for 3 years (and an option for a 2 year extension) in a $200 salary cap league. He's the definition of untouchable. There's nothing that would pry him away...literally.

I'd swap him for Brady, Addai, Wayne and a top 5 LB like Ryans or Willis. Of course I'd throw in some trash like A Smith (QB) and Barton, but in other words, he's untradable. He just broke the single game rushing record, and he's a freakin rookie!

Talking about this with some leaguemates and the current discussion is AP for Addai/Boldin. I don't even think it's close and he thinks it would be nuts to not take that value as Addai is actually outscoring AP on ppg basis.

For me, I would only do it if it involved getting either LT, Addai, or maybe Bush and would probably need to involve 2 top WR's along with them. I can't imagine anyone giving that much up.

I wont trade him. My team is loaded. If it wasnt i would need LT or Addai and a top WR.Although i dont even know if there is a top Wr anymore.

I think people would be crazy to trade away ADP for Tomlinson in a dynasty league. Redraft I'd consider it, but Tomlinson's gonna be 29 next year and you figure you'd only have about 2 or 3 great years left with him. With ADP, you're set up for the next 8 years or so. I'd heavily consider that Addai/Boldin deal. I probably wouldn't take it, but it would be enticing.

As a guy in seven dynasty leagues who owns Peterson in none  ...

IMO he is far and away the #1 player in dynasty. I completely buy into the hype. I would happily take 8-10 years of AD in his prime over 2-4 years of LT in his prime.

If I had a pretty bad team that wasn't going to contend for 2-3 years anyway, I'd consider trading him for a package that would instantly make me into a title contender. For example, Peyton Manning, Joseph Addai and Reggie Wayne.

The problem is that nobody would offer that. For this reason, i don't think there will be a lot of trades involving AD in dynasty, unless there is a guppie involved.

I don't predict injuries with confidence, but you have to be concerned that the most directly comparable running backs (Dickerson and Bo) had relatively short careers.

I'd trade him for any of 6 or 7 different players. When he shatters his pelvis in the next few weeks, you'll be sorry you overvalued him so much.

:banned: The same could be said for anyone in the league. If I had AD in a dynasty it would take a top RB and a top flight WR for me to even considered trading him. He's the #1 player in a dynasty league bar none.

I'm working out a deal to send 3 of my next 4 1st rounders to get Peterson. I would be able to keep him until his career ends. It would give me LT and Peterson.

I am kind of weak at WR in my keeper . I told one guy I would trade him for all his WR's. Burress, Roy Williams and Boldin.

I have had an owner dieing to get him off me in keeper. I have had offers of, Kevin Jones + Larry Fitz straight up. I declined since I have good WRs already and Jones is a major downgrade. He also offered me Fitz + his 1st next yr for him. I declined that also as AP is basically carrying my backs due to Gore and Maroneys performances this season.

All in all, I aint trading him.

I have gladly watched the demise of Shaun Alexander. Though a bit bittersweet.

I wasnt about to trade him in my 16 team dynasty league over the past 7 years.

Was too good and helped me win titles. Cant let go of that, good times or bad. Glad I never even considered it.

If I had ADP I would feel the same way and I do feel the same way about Addai and MJD right now.

I wouldn't trade this guy away for anything in the world. I am somewhat thin at WR (Jennings, Coles and Marshall are my starters) but even for 3 top tier receivers i wouldn't even consider it. I couldn't stomach watching AP tearing it up week after week for another team than for my own. I am so frigging glad that i took him instead of Marshawn Lynch on draft day. My backfield is set for years to come with AD, Addai and Reggie Bush. :football:

I was offered McGahee, 2008 1st rounder (likely Top 3 pick) and 2009 1st rounder. I was offered this right after the Chicago game. I could not hit decline fast enough. I traded away Faulk when he got traded to the Rams and I swore to NEVER do that again!!!!!!!

I would consider a deal for LT, but I own them both so that wont happen
I traded LT for ADP in a 3 player/keep league and I'm not looking back (I also gave up T. Jones and got S. Holmes in the process). LT's returns will continue to diminish and he is one season away from hitting the big 30! If you don't have ADP in a keeper or dynasty league, do whatever you can to get him, save for trading away the #1 pick in next year's rookie draft (I think McFadden is the next beast in waiting).

done.Oddly, I have Roy and Boldin in a very WR friendly league, I'd give both for ADP. I'd include Plax if I had him, in most leagues.

FWIW, I own AD in one league, wouldn't trade him for anything.

You'd have to send an elite stud + improve the rest of someone's lineup significantly enough to entice him to do it.

If the guy has any quality depth, it won't happen.

I'd almost give Roy and Portis in the league I don't have him. That one's close.

Ask him why he's stupid enough to make that trade offer if he really believes you're nuts to decline.

He'll be on my team next year. There's nothing I'll take for him at this point. In my league you get one keeper and you lose the draft pick for whatever round he was taken in. My fourth round pick next year will be Adrian Peterson (MIN)

I will probably give up either Marion Barber (6th round) or Kevin Jones (12th round) however.

I have made the following offers for ADP in a keep 5 league and been rejected.

Parker, Gore, Holt

Parker, Gore, Holmes, Marshall

Parker, Gore, Edwards

Parker, Barber and Wayne.

Parker, Gore,P. Manning, Holt, Edwards for Romo, Fitz and ADP.

I think he is untouchable.

As a multi league Peterson owner, I must say some of those offers are enticing, and I took him at #10 of a 16 team startup dynasty league this year

I think the Gore/Parker offers are all fair and that I am giving up a lot but at the same time I can't fault the guy for wanting to keep him. Scary thing is that his #2 rb is Julius Jones/Kenny Watson.

Keep 14 league...

It would take a top RB, WR and QB - except I already have Palmer and C.J.

AD stays put for at least 5 years. If I can still get top value for him after he's 28 or so, I'll take it. See ya in 2013!

He actually wouldn't make that trade offer. I can understand his reasoning from a #'s standpoint at this point, but not from an overall talent standpoint. Pretty amazing, though, how someone's value can jump to uberelite so quickly.
