OK. I've been thinking about this for some time now.
If you could put together AN ACTUAL NFL team, who would you choose?
Rules...
1. No Salary Cap (I know, but this is for fun)
2. Any current, active player
3. 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 2 TE
Some rough guidelines...
1. This IS NOT about individual stats, not like fantasy football. Imagine these guys actually playing together on the field and have to complement each other.
2. Although tempting, try to be creative with your choices. Taking the top guys in each category may not necessarily be the best way to go about it.
3. Give explanations as to why you have picked this particular roster.
*We could expand to OL, DL, special teams etc... That would require a deeper knowledge of football than I admittedly have.*
Mr. Roboto's Team of Destiny
QB: Peyton Manning - the guy can make any throw, but the best qualities about him for this discussion would be his leadership, football IQ, feeding multiple receivers, and ability to audible based on defensive looks.
RB: Chris Johnson - Simply put, home run hitter. Take-it-to-the-house any time he touches it.
RB: Michael Turner - Bowling ball, between-the-tackles runner, who would probably be the guy I would use in the beginning of the game to wear down defenses and run out the clock.
WR: Larry Fitzgerald - All-around stud, good character guy who likes to help the younger players. Plus he can catch anything.
WR: Wes Welker - great RAC, possession receiver who can find the holes in the defense and exploit slower LB's.
WR: Derek Mason - Pro's pro of WR's, he runs fantastic routes, has great hands, and is a veteran presence.
TE:Finley
TE:Finley
kidding...
TE: Antonio Gates - Red-zone monster, veteran pro who knows ho to get open and is a great outlet for the QB
TE: Jimmy Kleinsasser - I know, homer here. I worked for the security firm who did gameday security for the Vikings. This guy is BUILT. There was a reporter who asked one of the Williams' who be the last guy standing in a locker-room fight. Without missing a beat, he said 'Kleinsasser.'
Hopefully this isn't HONDA. If so, direct the thread there. Although if the other one is old, it may be irrelevant.
