ETA: I have him. I love him. But I need some offensive help right now and he's one of my best chips. Think I could get a hitter and a SP for him?

I think a hitter and a SP is too much...well, depends on the hitter I suppose. Straight up I would think asking for Markakis or Atkins would be the high side with maybe Abreu or Victor Martinez being reasonable expectations if you can find somebody willing to swap hitting for pitching (always a tough sell). If you want a borderline starter in addition to a hitter...I'd lower my offer to including guys like Youklis or Michael Young.
I think the guy is a top-10 or 15 SP for the rest of the year. And he's probably more valuable on your team than he is in a trade as most people are probably not sold on him because of his youth/inexperience.

Not sure how much this helps you, but I was offered (and readily accepted) the following trade about 3 days before Byrnes and Dice-K both went on the DL...and a day or so before Chase started his latest rampage.
I get: Utley, Lackey, Konerko
I give: Volquez, Dice-K, Byrnes
The guy was really desperate for pitching, Dice-K was pitching great and winning, he figured he was buying low on Byrnes and selling high on Utley.
Then Utley began homering every day again, the other two got hurt, and he sent me nasty emails for four straight days...

Going 1 for 2 usually isn't a good idea, unless you're really in trouble talent-wise, or you're in a deep league.

Well first of all, my only other ace-type is Zambrano. I have Cliff Lee, Dempster, Duchrerererereendorpher, Jurrjens, and a few other 'match-up-only' type starters, so it's not as if I'm stacked at pitching either. My outfield pop is really lacking (####udome, C Gomez, Ethier, D Murphy and C Lee) and that's where I'd really like to upgrade. It's a 12 team dynasty league so it's already a little tough to get good young talent for obvious reasons. At this point I'm almost leaning towards shopping A Ramirez (3B), D Lee and Carlos Lee to see what kind of young guys I could get for them. Right now I'm #1 in Ws, Ks, ERA and WHIP - but not for long - and in 2nd place over all.
