If you won it all... (1 Viewer)

I won both of my leagues. In the keeper league(5th championship) it would probably have to be Derek Anderson. Moss' season was amazing too, but if I had to play Vince Young at QB all year I wouldn't have gone 13-1 in the regular season and may not have won it all either. Not bad for a free agent pick-up. In the dynasty league(1st championship) it's between ADP and Kurt Warner. I'd say Warner because he had 30+ both weeks of the playoffs when ADP wasn't as spectacular. Jamal Lewis was a pleasant surprise too though certainly not up to MVP standards. I didn't expect much from him but he really helped out a few times.

It was a surprising season because I won both leagues after finishing 9th in both last year. The keeper league was less surprising because I had been dominant the previous four years(3 titles and 1 runner-up) before having one of those seasons where everything that could go wrong did go wrong.

Manning and Witten were my two biggest point producers, but my early-season pickup of Ryan Grant ended up being probably my most important move of the year.

I started this thread and am glad I did. More LT than Brady mentions. Westbrook a lot of nods. Braylon and Portis really common on champoinship teams, as was the Romo/Witten. Looks like some people were rewarded for hanging on to (or trading for?) SJax and Andre Johnson. Ryan Grant seems to have been the pick up of the year.

Keep it coming!

I cant belive it took until post #21 to say Randy Moss.

He was easily my MVP. And considering he practically had the greatest fantasy season for a receiver ever, Im surprised not more winning teams had him.

Especially since he was drafted as WR10+ in most drafts, he was an amazing value.

(Honorable mention go to Romo, TO, and Addai, for my team).

In one league:

Witten was by far my best pick (I think 12th TE off the board) and carried me all season.

Peyton Manning was consistent all year (save week 11) and was great down the stretch.

Pats D was great (big help weeks 15 & 16).

In another league:

Earnest Graham, Fred Taylor, Justin Fargas was an unlikely trio of RBs that carried me.

As well as the Chargers D who came up big.

Superbowl: Boldin

Season: Wayne

Honorable mentions:

Garrard for being unbelievably consistent (Low of 15 high of 23)

Jamal Lewis ($5 at the auction) and ended up the #5 overall RB

I was up against a team with Brady in the finals. Fortunately my team MVP of the season, Patrick Willis, came up with a 46 point effort to propel me to an 8 point win and the Championship.

Never thought I'd be saying this, but my D's and J Lewis. During the 4 week playoff run, I went with Colts, Bucs, and Seahawks and it was HUGE.

lol...fantasy is such a crap shoot

Probably Ryan Grant. As an LJ owner I was left pretty thin at RB after his injury. I had help from many players each week but Grant solidified my RBs.

Season & Playoff OMVP - Randy Moss

Season & Playoff DMVP - Brian Urlacher

SB OMVP - Jerricho Cotchery

SB DMVP - Jared Allen

These four players ( out of 20 starters ) put out 52% of the SB winning score.

My first-round draft pick (1.07), Brian Westbrook, is my MVP, without a doubt. Old Reliable, with 2005 yards and 12 touchdowns overall, to date, and averaging 18.9 FPs per game.

I also owe props to Jason Witten, with 1121 yards, 7 TDs, and a 9.7 FPs per game average. My QBs were Drew Brees and Derek Anderson; not too shabby.

Leo

Village Idiots

Super Bowl champion of "Kestrel's Flight" league in No Mercy FF

Without a doubt, Ben Roethlisberger.

#4 QB on the season, only behind Brady, Romo and Manning.

Took him in the 11th round.

Honorable mention - Earnest Graham

As I mentioned, I won my two leagues, but I traded Moss, Ronnie Brown and TO away before the season in a dynasty league to get Steve Smith, Chad Johnson and Steven Jackson. I also gave up Kitna and some picks, but the trades did not work out until Brown got hurt and both Steven Jackson and Steve Smith had good playoffs.

Once again Manning was well worth the early 1st round pick. As we have debated for the last 3 years, Manning was a much better choice over LJ, SJ, Gore, and all the others who were mentioned after #1..I need to find that thread

Patrick Willis. Our league is tackle heavy and he almost single handedly won the week 16 championship for me.

The Draft Dominator! Thanks(again) Joe Bryant!

Had the 1st overall so LT2 was a no-brainer. Then when we get back around the the #24-25 swing DD says take TO and Reggie Wayne back to back instead of a second RB. Got Brandon Jacobs in the 5th. Platooned QBs all year, waited until the 7th round to take Big Ben and the 13th to take Warner-- nice combo (and I always seemed to pick the right week to start the right guy-- maybe the weekly cheatsheets had something to do with it...)

My team was just soooo much better than even the teams with Brady and Romo. Thanks again DD -- you're my MVP!

(this may sound like a shameless plug, but in case you haven't realized -- I love Footballguys.com!)

Has to be Westbrook because he was money for me all year long. Close 2nd would be Farve (great late round steal), Braylon Edwards was also solid for me all year long.

Just won my super competetive longtime money league. I'm a one-leaguer (are there any of us left?). I though this might be an interesting topic, who is your team's MVP? I am curious as to the thoughts.

My team was deep and unspectacular, no Brady/Westbrook/Romo to carry it. I think if I had to name an MVP it'd be Portis. Started every week, consistenly putting up 9-15 pts in my league's scoring, and coming up huge with 21 pts this week at Minnesota. Close runner up would be Braylon who served as a #1 WR despite his draft position (I think I got him in the 7th, and ironically I drafted him as my 3rd WR behind Owens and Fitz). B. Marshall (whom I traded for) a close third - so consistent and a huge game in round one of the playoffs to carry me.

Thoughts?
Fred Taylor was unstoppable down the stretch, Mr Reliable helped me win my league's SB

Westbrook is my keeper and has been my MVP two years in a row...

Also have to mention that I followed Joe's perfect draft strategy and ended up with Romo in the ninth round even after selecting Kitna in the sixth (just couldn't pass up the value). Used SOS as a tool to acquire Graham and Lewis via trade, and take a flier on Grant. Finally, I would have killed my opponent in week 17 regardless, but started Pierre Thomas at Flex instead of Grant.

Thanks FBG!

Nate Burleson. Dude was supposed to be third or 4th WR and was basically a starter all year and got 11 td's. Add in return yards and he was a stud.

Also Kurt Warner was third best qb behind Brady and Romo after he went full time for the Cardinals.

I have two... Brandon Marshall and Ryan Grant

After the caddy went down early and LJ went down late, thank jeebus I needed a RB week 8 and picked up Grant. Then I had good ol Roy Williams go down and thankfully had baby TO on my bench!

Thank you gentlemen for my second championship season in the last 4 years!!! :lmao: :bye:

Regular Season. Brett and Nick Barnett

Playoffs Tomlinson and VandenBosch

I thought for sure I was done after the 1 PM games. I was down 141-70 and had 10 players to 8. But Vanden Bosch and Boldin were huge and got me back into it and my SD triplets finished it off with Rivers to Chambers being the finsihing score to overcome the 1 point deficiet I had closed it too by that time. Won 171-160

Reggie Wayne

Earnest Graham, Willis McGahee, Brandon Marshall and Donovan McNabb all played big parts, but Wayne was there, steady all season, right through Week 17.

Gonna keep him again, even though his salary goes up to 12% of cap. :goodposting:

won both of our $$$ leagues at work this year.

12 team - 4 player keeper.

won it for the 3rd time in 4 years and once again L.T. was the MVP.

12 team redraft league.

this is a tough one.

my top 2 picks fizzled out. (RBs Alexander and Ronnie Brown)

my next 2 picks had solid years (WRs Wayne and Houzmanzadah)

my 5th rounder helped to make up for the first 2 but didn't help me in the S.B. (ADP)

my next 2 picks ??? (Heap did squat and Galloway was traded for TE Vernon Davis)

my 8th round pick would have to be my MVP. he was consistant when I needed him.

MVP = Matt Hasselbeck

btw - Hasselbeck was the QB on my keeper too.

I'm guessing many who had Moss didn't make it to the championship given his poor performance in week 15.For me it was P.Manning and Jamal Lewis - both were big in the playoffs and Lewis was a huge boost in the regular season - especially after losing Rudi. Honorbale mention to Colston's late season charge which helped my late season surge to the playoffs.

MVP, as defined by points contributed over the season:

1. Addai - 212

2. B. Edwards - 186

3. Warner - 144

"Super Bowl" MVP

1. Pierre Thomas - 30 (much to the derision of some "Week 16 Stop" fanatics)

2. Warner - 21

I have to admit.. it was my GM. Normally unspectacular, this year he parlayed deft draft moves, savvy salary negotiations, wonderful waiver wire moves and legendary line-up decisions into a rock solid winner.

Brady

Honarable mentions

Jennings

Portis

TB Defense 2TDs the playoff week Brady stunk.
