there are no laws which make Sanctuary Cities illegal, which was my point. States can choose to spend state resources helping out the federal government or not helping them out as they so choose. States and cities have no obligation to help the federal government with immigration issues.

Title 8 U.S.C. 1324 speaks to it (key portions of it were amended with the Immigration Act of 1996 - signed into law by Bill Clinton).  I think sanctuary cities have figured out a way around this by simply not asking an alien's status.  But it still seems to violate the spirit of the law.  Here are the relevant portions:


Harboring —Subsection 1324(a)(1)(A)(iii)
makes it an offense for any person who—knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that an alien has come to, entered, or remains in the United States in violation of law, conceals, harbors, or shields from detection, or attempts to conceal, harbor, or shield from detection, such alien in any place, including any building or any means of transportation.

Encouraging/Inducing —Subsection 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv) makes it an offense for any person who—encourages or induces an alien to come to, enter, or reside in the United States, knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such coming to, entry, or residence is or will be in violation of law.

Conspiracy/Aiding or Abetting —Subsection 1324(a)(1)(A)(v) expressly makes it an offense to engage in a conspiracy to commit or aid or abet the commission of the foregoing offenses.

Unit of Prosecution—With regard to offenses defined in subsections 1324(a)(1)(A)(i)-(v), (alien smuggling, domestic transporting, harboring, encouraging/inducing, or cons-piracy/aiding or abetting) each alien with respect to whom a violation occurs constitutes a unit of prosecution. Prior to enactment of the IIRIRA, the unit of prosecution for violations of 8 U.S.C. § 1324(a)(2) was each transaction, regardless of the number of aliens involved. However, the unit of prosecution is now based on each alien in respect to whom a violation occurs.

Knowledge —Prosecutions for alien smugg-ling, 8 U.S.C. § 1324(a)(1)(A)(i) require proof that defendant knew that the person brought to the United States was an alien. With regard to the other violations in 8 U.S.C. § 1324(a), proof of knowledge or reckless disregard of alienage is sufficient.

Penalties —The basic statutory maximum penalty for violating 8 U.S.C. § 1324(a)(1)(i) and (v)(I) (alien smuggling and conspiracy) is a fine under title 18, imprisonment for not more than 10 years, or both. With regard to violations of 8 U.S.C. § 1324(a)(1)(ii)-(iv) and (v)(ii), domestic transportation, harboring, encouraging/inducing, or aiding/abetting, the basic statutory maximum term of imprisonment is 5 years, unless the offense was committed for commercial advantage or private financial gain, in which case the maximum term of imprisonment is 10 years. In addition, significant enhanced penalties are provided for in violations of 8 U.S.C. § 1324(a)(1) involving serious bodily injury or placing life in jeopardy. Moreover, if the violation results in the death of any person, the defendant may be punished by death or by imprisonment for any term of years. The basic penalty for a violation of subsection 1324(a)(2) is a fine under title 18, imprisonment for not more than one year, or both, 8 U.S.C. § 1324(a)(2)(A). Enhanced penalties are provided for violations involving bringing in criminal aliens, 8 U.S.C. § 1324(a)(2)(B)(i), offenses done for commercial advantage or private financial gain, 8 U.S.C. § 1324(a)(2)(B)(ii), and violations where the alien is not presented to an immigration officer immediately upon arrival, 8 U.S.C. § 1324(a)(2)(B)(iii). A mandatory minimum three year term of imprisonment applies to first or second violations of § 1324(a)(2)(B)(i) or (B)(ii). Further enhanced punishment is provided for third or subsequent offenses.

I don't think so.  I think he is a bit of dolt.  That said, I also think he's more real than the ##### he beat.  Her entire platform was built by people who only listened to the "disenfranchised few" and thought it would win the general public.  Timschchet types, who think they're smarter, nicer, more fair, etc, etc.   Sometimes the minority is simply that....and around here, majority rules.

CNN Is Furious Fox News Covered Illegals' Alleged Gang Rape of 14 Year-Old Girl

When it comes to CNN, you have to keep two things in mind. 1) The Least Trusted Name In News will only ever jump on stories or angles that offer the Left political upside, and 2) in service to its political agenda, The Last Place Network is unconcerned with the sexual degradation of children. How else to explain CNN's fury over Fox News covering what CNN refused to cover, the alleged gang rape of a 14 year-old committed by two illegal aliens?

Just when you thought CNN host Brian Stelter couldn’t become any more of a “ridiculous figure” he found a new level of low to crawl to, during Sunday’s Reliable Sources. As had been extensively covered by the MRC, the liberal networks have been blacking out the rape of a girl on school ground by illegal immigrants in Rockville, Maryland, with Fox News being the only TV news outlet covering it in detail. But according to Stelter, that’s apparently a problem for Fox.

“Rapes and assaults and murders are local news stories on a daily basis. But when do they break through to become national news and when do they not?” he wondered at the top of the segment and before taking it to Fox.

Ah, yes… Stelter whips out the old "local news stories" ruse.

Odd that, because…

Sanctuary cities violate federal immigration law, which is a national story.

When it comes to "local new stories," CNN was more than happy to utilize its Fake News Hate-Machine to gin up local race riots in local black neighborhoods, help to destroy a local Christian-run pizzeria, declare a local cop killer "courageous and brave," and fabricate evidence in a local Florida shooting...

But that is where CNN's focus only on what offers political upside comes into play. CNN is justifiably concerned that once voters are informed of the horror stories (and they are legion) emanating from these Democrat-run sanctuary cities, that once voters learn the truth of the human fallout within these three hundred-plus outlaw cities that allow known criminal illegals to run around free, it might help President Trump, who has made sanctuary cities one of his top priorities.

Unfortunately, like all soulless Leftists, CNN believes that as long as it is "other people's" jobs being taken by illegals, and "other people's" wages being artificially-suppressed by a flood of cheap labor, and "other people's" children being deprived of an education in urban schools buried in illegals who cannot speak English, and "other people's" loved ones being murdered and raped in these sanctuary cities, it is well worth it.

It all comes down to political power.

Most illegals are Hispanic and about two-thirds of Hispanics vote for Democrats and a whole lot of Hispanic illegal aliens appear to already be voting illegally -- or will be if CNN wins its push to make them all citizens -- so what's a few murders and rapes if it means bringing in millions of potential Democrat voters?

Going back to the Civil War, this is exactly what Democrats did to hold on to their slaves in the South. This group of sanctuary cities is nothing more than the Confederacy 2.0 -- another place where Democrats can exploit cheap, non-white labor as a means to hold on to political power.

Therefore, a 14-year-old girl being gang-raped in her own high school by two alleged illegal aliens is not only a politically inconvenient story for a CNN… Truth be told, to CNN it is really a non-story.

After all, If CNN is going to usher in its vision of a Brave New World, it will just have to become a fact of life that 12-year-old girls and 14-year-old girls will be broken in order to create that social justice omelet.

Any other question about why I call CNN "Hitler?"

Roughly 881 sexual assaults occur daily in the US.  Based on the comparatively few stories you post from Breitbart about illegal immigrants involved, it would be reasonable to conclude that a fair amount of these attacks are carried out by citizens/legal residents, etc. 

You don't post about those as much;  why is that?  Sexual assault is only offensive to you if carries out by an illegal immigrant? Not as much when it's a legal resident/citizen?

As much? Has he ever posted about sexual assaults by natural born U.S. citizens or legal residents? Maybe he has, but if so, I can't remember it.

Similarly, he dismissed the Women's March as not being legitimate because it didn't address the treatment of women in Muslim countries, completely ignoring the fact that the purpose of the march was to protest domestic issues that impact women directly in this country, not on things on the other side of the world that they have no control over.

Sorry I missed this post earlier. It wouldn't have worked anyhow, we left around 4pm, but thanks much for the offer.

The pollo a la crema looked great. I had the pork verde, which was delicious. I really don't know between Café Coyote and Old Town Café which is better. Also, my daughter had a churro at Bazaar del Mundo and I tasted it. Incredible, best churro I've ever tasted.

The Dem's just can't get over that Trump won the presidential election.   He won & they/you can't believe it.   Never, ever, have I seen this much hate over a loss.  Kinda shows some true colors.   Keep it up though as I like seeing a bunch of tolerant, educated,  people go crazy with their beliefs & the rest are uneducated, racist, stupid, fat, brain dead, ugly, & outright certifiable..   You are right & everyone else is crazy.  It's been an enlightening experience for me.  Before the election there was discourse because Hillary was going to win.  know it's a pile on because you lost.   Really get back to your 12 member support group, which is the "Trump is something or other orange hair" thread.  .    IMO

Rape charges to be dropped against immigrant teens in Md case

I await the mea culpa from Higgs, Breitbart, Sean Spicer and the many others who callously tried to exploit this incident to push their immigration agenda.  After all, I'm sure they'll defer to the prosecutor's judgment as clear evidence of innocence, just as they do when prosecutors decide not to indict officers who shoot civilians. 

 
Defense lawyers for both defendants have said the sex acts were consensual and that text messages and school surveillance videos did not substantiate the girl’s claims she had been pushed from a hallway into a bathroom at Rockville High School on March 16 where the suspects took turns assaulting her in a stall as she tried to break free.

Prosecutors declined to comment before the hearing about the decision in the case that rocked the suburban community near Washington, D.C. But they had signaled in an early court proceeding that they were having challenges corroborating events the girl described to Montgomery County Police detectives and that led to the arrests of Sanchez Milian and Montano.
