He runs with an unsubstantiated allegation against some teenagers in order to demonize an entire class of people. Then when it blows up and is found to be false, he doubles down and says the boys shouldn't have been here in the first place. No apology nor even an admission that he had jumped to false conclusions in accepting this as gospel, let alone some acknowledgment that he was wrong to assume guilt and attribute it as being representative for all those who are undocumented.

I have mixed feelings.  I know a lot more about this particular issue than I should.  Years ago I dated an illegal who was trying to get away from her abusive baby daddy.  Let me say this - the Gov't should do a better job getting word out to these women that they will not get deported for simply reporting a crime.  There should be amnesty for that if there isn't already.

I am not defending them. I am criticizing the rush to judgment assuming their guilt in which it turns out that the victim's account did not hold up after a review of the evidence, including medical reports:

McCarthy, who was joined by the county’s top leaders, said the decision to dismiss the charges followed an extensive investigation that included additional interviews and a review of medical records, school security videos, and phone and computer records.

I know you don't need a court of law to be the judge and jury for those who are undocumented, but fortunately our legal system does not automatically presume guilt for the undocumented, as they also still have the right to due process under the law - the state still must prove a crime was actually committed and the evidence was insufficient here.

From what little I know of age of consent statutes, they often leave some sort of buffer to allow for the fact that teenagers are horny as hell for each other. So like if one person is 13 or 14, the other person can't be more than X years older than that. 

Otherwise I sure hope the statute of limitations has passed since I lost my virginity at 15 to my 15 year old girlfriend in good old MD.

Also I didn't say all charges, and there is no evidence a crime was committed.  They may be charged with child pornography, but since the girl was actual responsible for distributing the content it's going to be hard to prove.  Sorry Higgs, but you don't determine when a crime was committed.  I'm thankful for that.
