I'm going to start a Cigar company. Follow me here (1 Viewer)

https://sugarskullcigars.com/ may not be the final website name. concerns about people thinking "sugar" will be in the cigars... Thoughts?

other name we own is http://torcedorecigars.com/ no site made yet.

Torcedor
A Torcedor is a highly skilled and specifically trained cigar roller. (but hard to pronounce?)

Im kinda thinking if people see our cigar and like it, what would they google?

I'd appreaciate feedback.

other option is Torcedor being the "big" company name and sugarskull being the cigar company name

Need some help here.
For some reason I think of the "Sugar Skull" softening of Calaveras as very feminine. How about Calaveras Cigars?

I like the uniqueness of Sugar Skull Cigars, and most people know what a sugar skull is.

I don't know what a sugar skull is. I would probably avoid putting sugar in the name if you don't want to imply sweetness in the stick.

What’s a sugar skull?

Due to childhood trauma, I have the superpower of blunt, hyper criticism. These are my harsh observations:

The logo looks tattoo parlor-ish mixed with a little hipster steampunk. If that’s your jam, go for it. Personally, I like it.

Not in love with sugar skulls. Sounds like an all girls roller derby team.

Torcedar is difficult to say and spell. (My phone wants to auto-correct it). I would be steadfast against using anything that gets auto checked/corrected. With all that said, and although I’ve never heard of it, the cigar aficionado’s absolutely have so I like that aspect. Of the two names I like this one best.

Suggestion: The older I get, the less I am inclined to jump through any hoops to buy something. If you can manage to have an option that doesn’t require a sign up/password more people would buy. EVERYONE is tired of that. I know the pushback is the customer still needs to give their information, but that’s expected by the customer. I would still ask that they sign up, just give people the option to do that on their own time/down the line.

Just my two cents with love.

I like your skull design and think it's going to look great as a cigar band but I'm not sure about that name. One thing that sets small businesses apart for me is "their story", who are you and why is your passion to sell great cigars? Come up with your why and you may just find your who with that story.

Either way I hope you kick some ***.

IMO the alliteration of 'Sugarskull Cigars' is a little, eh. Love the logo though
Thanks my thought is that If they see some in a store or online, what would they google to buy? im thinking "sugar skull cigar"

when i made the design, it was more for a cool look, then I thought about a cheap domain to put something up on the web and bought this.

The logo is done, but the name is still up in the air :hifive:

Thanks for the thoughts!

Frankly, I agree. I like the logo (obviously as I had it made" and have always just thought that style was cool. So thats why I went with it.

After all, this is not a "im gonna retire or even make money company" its a fun hobby project and welll see from there.

I can barely pronounce torcedore correctly. but I like the meaning behind it, so it stays a contender. but the name is still up in the air. I mean, its a pretty important thing

I'll be using a distributor for the sales/shipping/ not sure if they will make you make an account :banned:

Thats what were afraid of. because there are flavored sticks and we are not at ALL. Thats our concern with the name.

If I haven't old you, THANK YOU for your service. I have met several Veterans who later served with the CG and told me it was the craziest.

I don't think Torcedor is a terrible name. Anyone who smokes cigars with any regularity will be more than familiar with Spanish language brand names, and Torcedor does add a little extra cigar-specific zing. I agree with the others that I don't love the Sugar Skull name.

Is the name you own Torcedor Cigars, or Torcedore Cigars?
