I'm Riding the Kitna Train through Week 1 of the Playoffs, baby (1 Viewer)

dickey moe

Fingerpicker
Have Kitna as a QB on two of my teams heading into Week 1 of the Playoffs (other QBs are Bulger and Delhomme). Going up against GB, with Kevin Jones injured, I predict an air war. 350 yds passing, 2 TDs (one to Williams, one to Furrey).

BRING IT!!!

Been starting Kitna over Favre...

Not to figure contemplate who comes out on the long end of this "shootout."

I'm on board. My league doesn't penalize for turnovers. I've been using a combination of Favre, Kitna and Brad Johnson lately (mostly Kitna and Favre).

IM IN A HIGH PERFORMANCE LEAGUE, WHICH ALSO REWARDS COMPLETIONS, SO KITNAS BEEN VERY SOLID. GIVING HIM A GO OVER BRADY AND LEINART.

As of now. I'm going with Kitna over Brady as well. We don't lose any points for INT's so that is big factor for me.

I had Hasselbeck going in my one league until I saw the monsoon last night...switched to Kitna...-2 for turnovers...thank goodness I have LT.

I dropped Plummer and Big Ben week 3, grabbed Kitna and he's been starting since.

Went 0-7, then 6-7 to make the playoffs on the final week. Gonna dance with the girl who brought me.

I dropped him.

I feel more comfortable w/ Garcia this week and Kitna is not usable in Week 16, so off to the WW he went.

I've been a subscriber for sometime now and have been lurking on the boards for awhile.

Anyway, I'm coming to you guys for some advice because I have out-thought myself out of 2 playoffs already.

Here's the deal:

I have Kitna and Cutler. I'm facing a team that is definitely starting Roy Williams and probably starting Mike Furrey. This team also has Gore. Our league is 10 yd receiving-rushing/1 pt, 30 yd passing/1pt and 6 pts for all TDs. INTs are either -1.

I'm hoping that Willie Parker can put up a TD or 2 and 80+ yards and I have Housh, Driver and Glenn.

The $5,000 question is - Should I go with Kitna or Cutler?

I'm leaning towards Kitna but he has crapped the bed for me a couple times this year. But I am having a tough time with making the right call in the last few weeks.

What's the play here?

As a payback, for all the bettors out there, go with the Colts at home on Monday night. One thing I have been going good at is the numbers (totals and sides)!

As a long time lurker, I would guess that you know that the recommended forum for this sort of WDIS is not this one, but the Asst Coach. That said--go with the one you think will get you the most points. Just because he's starting all of Kitna's WR's--that's not a good reason to change over if you think Kitna is worth more points than Cutler; he's going to get those reception points whether you start Kitna or not.

i'm going with kitna this week because i have to -- cutler's my other choice (delhomme doesn't look like he's playing). plus, the lions will have to throw a lot as they'll have no running game this week.

 I also have VY and Hass, and dropped Kitna this week to pick up Garcia. Still deciding between Garcia and VY, but I can say I have no regrets about dumping Kitna.

I started Kitna today. He's done about as well as my other QBs, which probably isn't saying a whole lot (Favre, Brad Johnson, Garrard). Favre has 11 pts and the others have 8.

Kitna was a train wreck today at -2 pts per fumble and interception. Finished off the day with 2.8 pts. Delhomme was out and didn't think Leinart would do better than Kitna.

Wrong week to be sooooooo bad. Oh yeah, had Roy Williams too!

That chump is gonna keep me out of two league Super Bowls.

Kitna hurt me today too.

He's a nice guy and gotten the most out of his abilities, but he should not be Detroit's starting QB next season.

Well Kitna killed me by only scoring 8, but my options were Bulger (who scored 6) and Weinke (who scored 8). At least I don't have to beat myself up over starting the wrong guy, I was screwed no matter what. :lmao:

For whoever survived the wreck today, please don't start him vs. the Bears next week.

Though, now that the bears clinched homefield will they rest some guys the next two weeks....???

No way in hell do you start Kitna vs. the Bears next week. I'd take the first available QB on the waiver wire over Kitna vs. that matchup.

I started him this week over Big Ben, among other lesser options. If I do survive, there is no chance he plays for me next week.

I survived despite Kitna's 'performance' today and have had it in the back of my mind that he should be an automatic bench vs. the CHI defense. However, another week, another good/great fantasy performance by a middle-road QB against the Bears defense has me rethinking this. Please keep in mind that I'm only considering this because my only other option is Alex "monsoon" Smith.Whaddya think though? Homefield locked up + recent trend of QB's scoring well vs. CHI defense reason to be overly concerned RE: starting Kitna again? Maybe it won't be thaaaat bad ... :goodposting:ETA - QB performance vs. CHI DEF last 4 weeksWeek 12: Brady, NE 269/1/2Week 13: Minnesota QBs ... really badWeek 14: Bulger, STL 356/3/1Week 15: Rattay/Gradkowski, TB 305/3/1

If you're even considering this, your commish should knock you out of the playoffs on general principle, regardless of beating your opponent. That's crazy talk.

Well, I'm not sayin I'm happy about it or expecting great things here ... all I'm sayin is that the injuries have been mounting up on the CHI DEF side as of late, and DET is gonna have to put up SOME points. Crazier things have happened (Rattay this week). It's not like Alex Smith is the automatic play either :wall: This is for the TOILET BOWL championship, so I ain't dismissing him just yet. ;)ETA: Alex Smith is at home vs. ARI next week, so that will prolly be the better bet. Ughhhhh

DET should have put up SOME points against GB and MIN in back-to-back weeks too. Kitna really tore it up...

Kitna is dead to me !!!

IMO he can't hit my WW fast enough. Don't know how I survived his suckiness but I'm done with him.

:goodposting: I rode him from week 4 when I replaced Culpepper and I've gotten the a SB game in spite of his crappy performances over the last 6 weeks.Matt Leinart will be starting for me in week 16 against San Fran

I survived, waivers have been closed for the season, and now I am in the Super Bowl with the following options at QB...Kitna  Plummer :D Simms  Waivers closed a few weeks ago as well as the trade deadline. LT and FWP have gotten me this far, so I will just hope that LT and FWP can keep it up for one more game.

ETA - QB performance vs. CHI DEF last 4 weeks

Week 12: Brady, NE 269/1/2

Week 13: Minnesota QBs ... really bad

Week 14: Bulger, STL 356/3/1

Week 15: Rattay/Gradkowski, TB 305/3/1
:hot: I reeeally wanted to start Smith this week but couldn't quite do it. I managed to win with Kitna netting me -1.

...And seriously- based on the passing numbers being thrown at the Bear lately, I have to agree- :hot: -Kitna is definitly a viable start next weekend.
