I'm starting ______ over _________ in week 9 (1 Viewer)

commisholio

Come out with your pants down!
I like this thread every week, and I can't find one for week 9, so I'm going to start one. Mods, please delete if my search skills suck.

I'm stewing over my RBs and WRs this week.

At RB, I think I'm currently starting Gore and Fred Taylor over Rudi, but I'm having a hard time doing so. Current factors that have me leaning this way are 1) banged up MIN defense 2) Rudi's at BAL; the BAL D seems to have returned to dominance after a few down years; and 3) JAX gets TEN at home, a very soft matchup. I'm still having a hard time pulling the trigger on sitting Rudi because of FFL Rule #1 (is Rudi a stud?) and because he has been vocal about wanting more carries this week. If it looks like one or both Williams D linemen for MIN will play, I may revisit this decision.

At WR, I'm starting D Jax and Driver over A. Bryant and Furrey. This decision presents the classic "good players with bad matchups" versus "lesser players with good matchups" decision, as I really like the matchups for my backups. Nonetheless, I still think D Jax and Driver will get more opportunities and have a better chance to score. I am watching the injury reports and weather reports carefully, though, as both could impact D Jax and Driver this week.

What decisions are you stewing over this week?

Freddy T, Thomas Jones, Willis and Warrick. No freaking idea - have Freddy and Willis in now.

also don't know who my third WR is - Moose or Amani - can't freaking make up my mind.

to top it all off, I've got Baltimore or the New York football Giants.

This week sucks!

Mud out

I'm debating starting Gore over Portis. Minnesota has been good against the run but K Williams and Nap Harris are hurting and Frank put up good numbers against the Bears last week. I'm also not sure how much I trust Portis on a bad ankle against a good Dallas run D.

Seriously thinking Bulgar vs KC will be a better play than Manning vs New England
ugh. don't do it. depsite the losses, peyton has actually had solid games vs. NE the last few times out ('05 - 321ys/3TD; '04 - 256yd/2TD; '03 - 278/4TD..only the snowy playoff stinker in '04)....and this Pats secondary is small, can be beaten by marvin/reggie. if anything, i say you trade bulger...or trade peyton if you need a total stud rb/wr in return.

2nd WR (S.Smith on bye)

starting Troy Williamson over Reggie Williams

with the very real possibilty of Robinson not playing, I think Williamson vs a leaky SF secondary trumps Williams with Garrard at QB vs and equally inept Ten D.

My big quandry is Lee Evans and Deion Branch over Hines Ward.

Last time I benched Ward he went off, but this week he faces Denver.

Right now I think I go with TO, Evans and Branch

but I could easily change my mind to put Ward in for either Branch or Evans.

Whatever choice I make will be wrong - a by product of being 1-7.

Agonizing over...

Gore over Chester Taylor

I am finding it hard to sit Gore since he puts up numbers no matter who he is playing. Seems like CT never gets in the end zone. Kevin Williams is out for the Vikes D too.

T Jones over Parker (in a PPR league)

Broncos are tough against the run. They will stack the box and make Roethlisberger try and beat them through the air.

Glenn or A Bryant (in a PPR league)

No idea on this one. Glenn will be more of a 5 rec, 50 yard guy and Bryant will probably be either 30 yards or 130 yards and a TD.

Have to decide which 2 to start out the following receivers:

Holt, Harrison, Coslton, Furrey

Started Harrison over Colston last week and it cost me a win.

Decisions, Decisions.

Keep an eye on Joe Horns status. If he doesnt play, Ronde will cover Colston. That would make your decision easier methinks.Holt is a given. Id go Harrison this week. Peyton has had good games againt NE, and hes in the zone right now. Peyton in Prime Time on Natnl TV?? Money.

IMHO TO and Evens for sure then I'd swing Ward dispite QB issues and DEV D. Hass and SA are out and DJax is gimpy, OAK D is not sluch vs the pass, this could get ugly.

Like your choices here tho.leaning to Garrard over Farve (weather may be a factor but Farve seems to produce regardless)

at flex T.Bell, M.Bell or C. Henry (already have 85 in the line-up.) depending on health status leaning toward M.Bell.

Contemplating going with Lundy over R. Brown. Will probably stick with Ronnie though. Tough one - don't love either match-up.

Turner over FWP  Not sure how well I should read into matchups on this one. The last time half of this board started Turner a couple of weeks ago, everyone got the burner instead of the turner.

In a WR/RB flex spot......I am starting Fred Taylor over Greg Jennings. Hoping for 100 yds and a TD from Freddy. I am probably making the wrong decision though.

With Plaxico a "game time decision" and the NYG's probably running the ball all over HOU....thinking of starting Kitna over Eli.

To boot I have

Westy...BYE

Rudi...BAL

T. Jones...MIA

Addai...NWE

Lundy...NYG

and to make matters worse...

Stallworth...BYE

Plaxico...Back Spasms

DJAX...OAK

Colston...TB...only 38yards vs. them in week 5

and to add insult to injury

L.J. Smith BYE

    :banned: :banned: :banned: :P

 4 team league? How aren't you in 1st place?
Somehow I think he was pulling your leg....and you seem to be unable to notice Schtick when it is staring you in the face. :lmao:

It's painfully unfunny shtick, though. I could see how someone could miss it.

Thinking hard about starting Ahman over Clinton.
I thought Clinton was still hurt, so Green should be a better play.I am thinking Green over Parker (Denver has not given up a rushing TD this year)
Well Portis has practiced since Wednesday and should be good to go on Sunday, but because of the ankle problem and he's going against Dallas, Ahman looks to be the one to start this week. Not 100% sure, a little gunshy but will probably go with Ahman.

Been going back and forth on Rudi or Addai all week. I just put Rudi back in the starting lineup just now. He probably has more of a chance of a TD than Addai and they both play tough defenses.

I have Green and Parker, but am looking at playing Jacobs this week. I think he is going to have a really nice game and I want to get him in. Leaning towards playing him over Parker.

I've been going back & forth with Cooley over Watson

Watson had a monster week last week... but Moss is a no go in Wash & Cooley should benefit.

I've got Cooley in my line up for now, but I just might flip it with Watson :lmao:

Fred Taylor over Frank Gore....Gore did outstanding against CHI last week. But I just can't pass up on Taylor's matchup
