With it now being likely that Colston will play in 3 and 4WR sets this weekend against OAK, some owners will take the plunge. What player is going to sit for you? I would imagine that some teams need a jolt and to catch lightening in a bottle, this could be their chance.

COLSTON WILL PLAY

Posted by Mike Florio on October 10, 2008, 11:22 a.m. EDT

Saints receiver Marques Colston, who has missed several weeks after tearing a ligament in his thumb, will play on Sunday, a league source tells us.

Per the source, Colston will play in the three- and four-receiver formations for the Saints.

The 2-3 Saints are in last place in the NFC South, trailing the 4-1 Panthers and the 3-2 Bucs and Falcons.

The Saints host the Raiders on Sunday.
ETA: How will Colston do this week? Assuming PPR, standard scoring 6pts TD. List your predictions here.

Boldin AND Colston AND RWhite here :goodposting:

Boldin

Colston

RWhite

RoyWill

VJax

probably benching VJax for Colston and maybe RWhite for Boldin if Boldin plays

Not gonna start him yet. I still have Terrell Owens, Calvin Johnson and DeSean Jackson to go as my 3 WRs. Once Colston does get back in there, I will be in great shape.

I'm starting him over Engram and Vincent Jackson in one league and TJ Houshmandzadeh in another. (Don't trust Fitzpatrick on the road).

Why would you bench Jackson with Chambers out, Gates not 100 percent and LT still hurting? To answer the thread question, I have Lance Moore and Colston. Not sure who to start. NO should win going away, so Colston might be eased into the role.

This is my situation as well. I have Fitz and Marshall and Chad Johnson. It's Johnson I am thinking about. Fitzpatrick at QB might be the final straw, though I have yet to decide.

sitting Colston and starting Moore, I think Colston gets the coverage, and Moore gets the catches :excited:
Maybe, but I think Moore's looks are diminished by Colston's presence. If Colston plays as expected, we can chalk it up to the Saints red zone inefficiencies. Their passing offense is the best in the NFL, but they have trouble converting those red zone trips into touchdowns, and that's where Colston's presence will help. His height and leaping ability make him an easy target for Brees to throw to.

I'm starting Marques Colston for...

The no-good, scoundrel-scrubs I've been using to fill in for him. Non-producing bastards...

Starting him over Breaston if Boldin DOES play, and possibly over Calving Johnson if Boldin DOESN'T play.

Calvin seems like a lock play, but now HE'S dinged, and obviously the Lions QB situation is pretty bleak. So it's either Owens, Colston, Breaston or Owens, Colston, Calvin.

There was word he will only be used in 3/4 wr sets.
Yeah I mentioned that in my original post. But I think it is important to reiterate that point - so no one thinks he is going full tilt.Just curious as to what the numbers are for play breakdown that use those type of sets. I am sure it's higher than most teams, just not sure how high.

Guys, those sets are the lifeblood of the Saints offense. The only team that went with an empty backfield more often than the Saints last year was the Packers.

Sitting him for Cotchery & DeSean (.5ppr with return yardage). I'd like to see him back and healthy in the offense before risking the start.

Undecide... (start 3)

Coles *

Ocho Cinco

Colston

Curtis

Bruce

I normally like to allow a guy one week back before putting him in my lineup. But I have him and Curtis in the same boat with injuries, and no Palmer in Cincy.

Hey fellas, I've been at work all day. I don't see anything in the link in the OP. Where was this discussed?

Thanks MC

Question for anyone owning both Moore and Colston...

Is there any logical reason to consider just leaving Moore in this week?

im still undecided. i guess my main concern is how good of shape he's in. i know Payton said he looked good in practice. anybody have any input on if he's been staying in "football shape". i assume he has, since it's a thumb, but still he's been out for some time.

That's what I'm going to do, unless I hear something that says he's ready to go without limitations.

Here are my 4 other choices in the league I own Colsten:

SHolmes, PCrayton, RegBrown, SRice

I have no choice.

In my .5 PPR league, I'm starting him over Matt Jones if Anquan Boldin doesn't play and over Steve Breaston if Anquan Boldin does play.

I'm leaning towards benching him this week for either Roy Williams or Eddie Royal if they are healthy. I'm afraid that these announcements are made to use him more as a decoy to free up the other WRs this week.
