I don't know man i'm thinking the same thing but it's tough to pull the trigger in the playoffs with a wildcard like Manziel....Cutler is so hard to figure out tho he plays solid against a good Detroit d and will play poorly against a team like Tampa Bay.Cutler? Maybe.
I'm in the exact same situation. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna start Manziel if he is announced the starter. Having started Cam all season really wears you down. One can only be that patientThinking of starting him over Cam, first round of the playoffs and I'm the underdog so I don't have much to lose.
Nothing to lose except the first round of the playoffs.Thinking of starting him over Cam, first round of the playoffs and I'm the underdog so I don't have much to lose.
I don't agree with that. If anything, Manziel should help the efficiency of Crowell and the other RBs since defenses have to account for Manziel's ability to run.Don't forget the rushing. JF ran for 1400 yards and 21 TDs in 2012, and 759 yards and 9 TDs last year. Bump down both West and Crowell because JF would eat into their carries and rushing TDs.
Brees!
But it's in a consolation bracket so it doesn't really matter. Highest points overall per week gets $$ so taking a gamble on players that could put up a lot of points is all that really matters from here on out. I doubt Johnny does a great job passing, but with Gordon who knows. My big expectation is that since Indy is so awful against the run there will be many times where he tucks it and takes off, possibly for some TDs.
Oh, it's a risky play for sure. I definitely wouldn't start him over Matt Ryan (at Packers) or someone like that. That is crazy to me. ATL at GBP has the highest over/under this week. Starting him over Brees (vs CAR) is also crazy to me. But IND at CLE has the fourth highest o/u this week, Vontae Davis seems to have to sit out which drastically weakens their secondary and ability to keep Josh Gordon in check, and the game could end up being an explosive matchup with CLE in catch-up mode. Putting someone like Kaep (at OAK) or Cam (at NOS) out there in the playoffs, with the way they've performed lately, is an equally risky play with less upside considering that we have a lot of data to support that they will not go off in any major way. And with the matchups this week I'd probably start Manziel over Dalton, Eli, Mett, McCown, Bortles, Fitzpatrick, Geno, Bridgewater, Smith, Stanton, Carr and Sanchez. Cutler and Orton have pretty good matchups so I'd probably play them over Manziel. Orton is a little bit of a question mark. Best case he'll be in catch-up mode and able to move the ball. Worst case he'll be shut down like they were able to do with Alex Smith. One would think that DEN attacks BUF with the pass, which would be good for Orton, but the DEN offense has been less predictable lately.Looks like I am going to have to start being the voice of reason in this thread for those who are buying the hype of starting a rookie QB who has never started a game in the first week of their playoffs.
While all ESPN has been showing is his cool little broken play for a TD with some of Buffalos backups playing a few snaps, remember on his second drive he ended up fumbling a would be TD then laying on the ground with his arms crossed over his chest as if he was dead. Granted the refs got it wrong AGAIN and reversed the play, but he has so many flaws that starting him would be playoff suicide.
Do you own stock in ESPN?If your QB is not named
Rodgers/Brees/Brady/Luck/Peyton/Roeth
you should be starting J$
Finally someone with some sense.I have Tannehill, but I will prob start Tannehill.
Fantasy playoffs, I can't afford a gamble.
If the goal Is to get the highest points, why wouldn't you be starting Brees?Brees!

Is Tannehill's floor any lower than Manziels? Finally someone with some sense.I have Tannehill, but I will prob start Tannehill.

Bad move, Pettine.@JayGlazer: Again, breaking news I am reporting Brian Hoyer will remain the starter in Cleveland over Manziel
Hoyer + Gordon last season looked good.![]()
Manziel would've been better for Gordon IMO.
I agree. I think he's coaching not to be fired instead of making the bold move . Sticking with Hoyer still gives him wiggle roomBad move, Pettine.@JayGlazer: Again, breaking news I am reporting Brian Hoyer will remain the starter in Cleveland over Manziel
Its shocking to see the people who would have started JF and those who think he should start for a 7-5 Browns team.Bad move, Pettine.@JayGlazer: Again, breaking news I am reporting Brian Hoyer will remain the starter in Cleveland over Manziel

Fired? The guy is in his first year with a 7-5 record in a tough division.I agree. I think he's coaching not to be fired instead of making the bold move .
