improving defenses (1 Viewer)

the two team defenses/special teams that are really jumping out at me over the first two weeks have been Tampa and Kansas City. Both teams are suprisingly 2-0 starting the season and in both of their cases, i think that its the defense that is doing more of the work.

These are teams that may be floating around on the wire and could possibly turn into weekly starters with favorable schedules.

Who else has everyone been impressed with and not so impressed with. Eagles defense has me unimpressed, having the lions put that much on the board against them.

Chiefs are improving for a variety of reasons. First, they finally hired a LEGIT coordinator in Crennel, who's been better than advertised so far. And they've got a BUNCH of talent/early picks: Dorsey, TJack, Hali, DJ, Berry, Flowers, Arenas. And a couple mid-rounders mixed in. Those guys are developing. Flowers has been very good for 2 years now and is finally getting some recognition as one of the best CBs in the league. Dorsey and DJ in particular have been beasting. The rest are doing their part.

But from a fantasy perspective I'm not a big fan unless you get big points for points allowed. They'll make some plays on the back end with a nice core of Berry/Arenas/Flowers/Carr but they're not very good at rushing the passer so you're not going to get much out of them from a sack perspective.

Special teams should be elite, though. Arenas and McCluster are elite talents as returners and they have a great K and P. Cleveland probably has the best ST coverage in the NFL so they didn't do much yesterday, but were dominant in W1 and I expect more going forward.
