In-Season Strategy (1 Viewer)

A recurring theme stated in the improve FBGs thread was to have the following:

- Earlier Cheatsheets

- Earlier Top 200

- Earlier Lineup Dominator

- 2nd Opinion on Projections

and we hear you loud and clear. Unfortunately these things aren't an easy thing to fix as a lot of these products build from other products, etc. But we put our minds together and we think we have a solution that our subscribers are going to love:

1. I am removing myself from the upgrades feature to hammer out weekly projections all day Monday.

2. Bob Henry is being removed from his waiver report to hammer Forward projections (ie if we are entering week 2, he is creating projections for week 3 to 17)

3. We have automated Clayton Gray's SOS so it can be released sooner

4. Clayton Gray will be heading up a staff team of 4 to 6 other people to expand on the upgrades / downgrades / waiver report. The strategy is to create something nearly as detailed as what Bob Henry is currently doing for the training camp updates. This info will be entered by player (making all of it accessible via the playerpages and MyFBG). This info will be published by mid-day Monday.

5. All of the numbers (projections, SOS, forward projections) from 1-3 will be in databases by Tuesday morning. This will allow custom top 200 reports, custom cheatsheets, release of lineup Dominator, etc all by COB Tuesday. This info will constantly change throughout the week, but we know the importance of being able to see early cheatsheets / Top 200 to chase that free agent / waiver / trade play. By having the Lineup Dominator released this early, people will also be able to look at custom cheatsheets for any week going forward (ie you can view week 12's prelim cheatsheet in week 3).

6. Sigmund Bloom will release second opinion offensive projections by mid-day Wednesday.

7. I will complete the Game Predictor material on Thursday morning. This is significant, because it will impact the early projections. This number crunching will result in a LOT of projection tweaks. In the past I have refused to release earlier cheatsheets / projections, because I feel a bit naked without having done the Game Predictor stuff first. This plan though I think is the best of both worlds. Our Thursday to Sunday numbers will always be our best material. It factors in the latest news, injuries, etc that I can't completely digest earlier in the week (MRIs haven't taken place, no one is practicing, etc). But I know the importance of trying to give something to look at early in the week. So all I ask is we all refrain from the why did Vince Young jump from #5 on Tuesday to #9 on Thursday. These jumps are going to happen as I am using two distinct different methods to release the separate numbers. The later information will always be our official stance. The prelim material is just that...preliminary.

8. Sigmund and I will talk on the Audible each Thursday about players that we disagree with for the coming week.

The rest of the week will look similar to last year with articles going up Wednesday / Thursday, etc. A full release schedule will be published in a few weeks.

I am posting this here, because I want people to be aware that we have acknowledged your concerns and are taking steps to deliever quicker content to help you win your leagues.. Obviously everything can't be done by Tuesday, but we can move the most important pieces to there while still going through the rigor to have the most accurate info assembled by Thursday.

Wait... why did I cancel my subscription to all those other FFBall sites...?

It's taken some major juggling but I think it'll wind up being a much better product for you guys each week. You asked and we listened.J
Oh yeah... because FBG kicks some serious ar$e! :) :) :)

:lmao: :excited: :lmao: :excited:  :excited:  :excited:

Can you tell I'm just a bit pumped about this

Are there about 1,000 of you working on this site, because it sure seems like you have enough info that it would take that many to get ti done. Kudos and thanks for making one part of life easier!!

The typical FBG subscriber says:

-- We want everything.

-- We want it to be perfect (even things that require speculation!)

-- We want it yesterday.

And you guys thought being self-employed meant freedom from da boss. Silly silly men.

:goodposting:

Just wanted to chime in and say that I've been using FBG for five years now, and while I came for the insights, I stay due to the business side. The professionalism and attention to customer service is pretty far out in front of the rest of the industy, IMHO and that makes all the difference to subscribers.

I provide marketing and business advice for a living, and I sure wish everyone understood the direct correlation between customer experience and profit the way Joe and David do.

Sorry for the love letter, but at the end of the day the operational side of this enterprise is pretty impressive.

That's more than acceptable. It rocks.

Sounds like you guys are seriously taking into account user feedback. That is great to see.

The early stuff is imperitive. We all know your past hesitance to put out a product that you werent 100% comfortable with, however it need be remembered that (1) A lot of people WANT even a preliminary tool to make decisions (or aid decisions) early in the week and (2) many players, like myself, like the articles, data, cheatsheets primarily for entertainment... while they influence our lineup decisions, it is as or more important to have something fun to read on a Monday or Tuesday at work.

Regardless, sounds great.

And prepare for the inevitable "Why did Vince Young drop from 5 to 9" threads regardless. You know they are coming.
