In terms of defense stats, what is a "stuff"? (1 Viewer)

Our league awards points for "stuffs" and I'm not entirely sure what that is. My guess is that it's when a defense stops an offense on 4th and short. Or is it something else? Perhaps a tackle for loss?

Also, anyone know of a website that lists stuffs in the boxscore?

Per your link:Stuffed: Percentage of runs that result in (on first down) zero or negative gain or (on second through fourth down) less than one-fourth the yards needed for another first down. Ranked from most stuffs (#1) to fewest stuffs (#32).

Thanks JP, but I'm not sure stuff is used the same way in ESPN. In my league the Ravens were credited 2 stuffs vs KC, and the Bengals 1 stuff vs Oakland. I would expect those numbers to be a lot higher given the definition provided by your resource.

It's part of your league scoring system and your asking this in week15???? :lmao:

Traditionally, I believe a stuff has been a tackle for loss that isn't a sack. As Jeff posted, though, the term has been used to describe different things. Sounds like the traditional definition may be what your league is using though.
