In your 1st year of FF, Name your starting RB's (1 Viewer)

Two leagues that first year:

Robert Smith (his really good year)

James Stewart (man, he is going to LIGHT UP the league his first year in Detroit! )

Other league

Robert Smith (guy saved my two rookie seasons)

Mike Alstott - gets a ton of TDs, right? :ouch:

In my very first fantasy football draft, I took Antonio Freeman in the first round, Jeff George in the second round, and had to settle for Karim Abdul-Jabbar in the third as my primary running back.

Amazingly, I still won that league. Go figure.

I started J. Anderson my first year

I have a newbie in one of my leagues and he is starting Alstott :bag:

Don't remember both but it my #1 RB was Ricky Watters when he was on Philly. I think he ran for about 1200 yards and double digit touchdowns

1990 - Thurman Thomas and Emmitt Smith. I remember cutting Merrill Hoge for Emmitt Smith. I also had Randall Cunningham that year for what was his magical year. Drafted Cris Carter early, only to have Buddy Ryan cut him for only catching touchdowns. :wall:

I was 10 years old at the time. :banned:

1998

Had to start 3 RB's.

12 Team league.

Robert Smith

Duce Staley (in an RBBC with Charlie Garner in Philly )

Some fullback (no one of consequence)

Traded Staley straight up for Leroy Hoard (Smith's backup and goal-line vulture) and played Smith/Hoard together. Smith got hurt 4 weeks after the trade and I didn't miss a beat.

Amazingly, I won my division and had most total points in that league.

1995

I remember Faulk (colts), Rashaan Salaam (rookie of the year), and Eric Metcalf. I cant remember who else. I know Scott Mitchell was one of my QBs though when he had his best season on DET with Herman Moore.

The year was 1985...........

10 team re-draft

1. Eric Dickerson - Rams

2. Tony Dorsett - Cowboys

3. Sammy Winder - Broncos

4. Walter Abercrombie - Steelers

1985:

1- Walter Payton

2- Joe Morris

Bench - Larry Kinnebrew

TD only league with bonus for +100 yards rushing.

Championship! :banned:

Man, I was awful in my 1st year. I took Faulk in the 1st round because he had a sweet run highlight in the pre-season on SportsCenter, I think it was 99 or 2000.

Kevin Faulk.

1999: Jamal Anderson and Terrell Davis. They blew out their knees within 3 weeks of each other... What a lovely welcome to fantasy football!

Good thing I save all these things on spreadsheets......

Here's my complete 1998 Draft (8 teams):

1 6 MARK BRUNELL QB JAX

2 11 JEROME BETTIS RB PIT

3 22 NAPOLEON KAUFMAN RB OAK

4 27 JERRY RICE WR SF

5 38 ROD SMITH WR DEN

6 43 CARL PICKENS WR CIN

7 54 BRONCOS D DEN

8 59 JAKE PLUMMER QB ARZ

9 70 KEENAN MCCARDELL WR JAX

10 75 ADRIAN MURRELL RB ARZ

11 86 RANDY MOSS WR MIN

12 91 RAYMONT HARRIS RB GB

13 102 JETS D NYJ

14 107 OJ McDUFFIE WR MIA

15 118 FRANK WYCHEK TE TEN

16 123 JOHN BECKSVOORT K SF

17 134 CHARLIE JONES WR SD

18 139 NORM JOHNSON K PIT

Pretty stupid of me to have drafted a QB in the 1st round (even though I won the Super Bowl that year....). Check out that great rookie pick in the 11th round.....

Had or have a newbie? I recall guys starting Alstott a few years back, you don't mean he's starting Alstott this season??? :loco:
this is his first year playing FF. He is starting Alstott.

It was Bettis' first year in Pitt. I think I had the 8th pick.

1. Pickens

2. I. Bruce

Pickens was a td machine at that point in his career and Bruce was coming off that year when he had like 1800yds receiving. Both of these guys underperformed for me.

Luckily I thought Bettis was going to be a beast in Pitt and got him in the 4-5th round. He carried me the whole year.

I remember drafting R. Mirer in the 5-6th and a few guys were seriously groaning and like "nice pick."
