IND Defense not such a great play? (1 Viewer)

Pretty unbelievable they could do so little against the Lions.

It's as if, if Sanders doesn't play, they all take the game off.

I'm in a tight game and I used IND instead of Miami but I didnt think it was an easy decision. Cost me 7 very important pts.

This was a putrid effort by the Colt team overall - Peyton and the offense were very iffy for a good part of the game. It's like they knew they could win when they needed to and played down to the Lions. The defensive game plan was HORRID. They blitzed ONE time all game. Lined up one on one against Calvin Johnson all game, including at the goal line. Couldn't tackle. Had 3-4 chances for easy picks - didn't convert one. Will cost a lot of teams the Superbowl, including potentially mine. A big FU to the Colt D for sure...

Sat the Ravens for IND D. Also cost me the SB slot. Yeah, I know - point at the shirt!
:football: ..........No offense but you don't deserve to be in the superbowl with that move. The Ravens D is probably the top rated fantasy defense and they were going up against a team that gives up a ton of sacks and isn't exactly a juggernaut on offense. I guess the "never bench your stud" rule applies here.

Well maybe if every jackass didnt come in here and just post a  smilie he wouldve had an easier decision.

I too fell for the perfumed inner thigh that was the Colts D versus the hapless Lions. I also had to endure an average day by Adrian Peterson (fantasy points-wise anyway) and a bad day by Chris Cooley. Luckily Matt Cassel, Wes Welker, Antonio Bryant combined with my latest pick up of Pierre Thomas did well enough to put me in the Super Game. I thought my season was dead when Tom Brady went down for the count. It's been a scramble the whole way, but I made it. Hopefully I can seal the deal next Sunday.

I'm still laughing, but only because I drank 27 beers tonight (almost).

Not because of how well the Colts' D played in a pathetic performance.

Offense did very well (well, specifically Manning and Clark, really). They missed 2 possessions because of special teams turnovers - that's not on the offense. They only had 3 possessions in the 2nd half - one was ruined by a holding call by a rookie, one was a TD, the last one they virtually ran out the clock and clinched the game with the FG. Offense wasn't iffy today - sorry - especially Peyton - who played a great football game today, but didn't reward fantasy owners because they ran the ball inside the 5.Defense was bad, but most teams that are missing their starting 2 DTs, their MLB, and their all-pro safety will underperform. The two fumbles by Ratliff on punt returns was why the game was close, though.Edit: Colts scored 31 points in 9 possessions. One of the possessions was a one play kneel-down. So, in "real" possessions, they scored 5 out of 8 possessions - 4 of those TDs, and the FG was a game-clinching drive that took most of the time off the clock. I'm not sure how that can be call "iffy" offense - even if the opponent is the Lions.

Dan Orlovsky is starting (not that hes great or anything but hes better than CPep and he was respectable before he got hurt) and Bob Sanders probably wont play.
I'd feel a lot better about this if Calvin Johnson wasnt questionable. Sanders being out is a big deal though. Also, :football: to the thread full of idiots with nothing better to say than  : As if there's no chance Detroit might have a decent week.
 :lmao:

blackjack23, i normally rate you as a top notch poster on these boards, but i think you forgot to eat your Wheaties or something this morning.... either that or you are facing the Colts D this week :lmao:
I wonder if I moved up in your rankings?
haha ... kudos, blackjack23! You are at the top now! It looks like no Bob Sanders make a big difference yesterday. I was thinking he was going to play based on earlier in the week reports. It's hard to believe that DET took such great care of the ball yesterday given that Orlovsky didn't have much practice time last week as he was recuperating from an injury. And the OL only let the Colts get 1 sack. It seems like a dream matchup on paper, but obviously it's not always as advertised when we are talking the NFL (league of parity). Anyways, great job with posting your concerns making many of us look silly in the end.

What a great pickup this turned out to be. Projected number one this week? What a joke. Grats to the poster of the thread. Good call.

I bow down in your presence. Though if you told me the outcome would be the same if the same two teams played again next week, I'd say you were riding the short bus to work.

Well maybe if every jackass didnt come in here and just post a  smilie he wouldve had an easier decision.

New England might be on a lot of WW lists, and they get a very predictable Arizona team. Weather could be a factor, and we know Warner is prone to turnover-fests. You also get Hobbs explosive KO return ability as a bonus. I know the D has been ravaged by injuries, but this could be a great matchup as Belicheck should be able to take advantage of facing a one-dimensional offense.
:lmao: The same NE defense that allowed 26 pts to OAK and had 1 sack and 1 TO?
:goodposting:

I gave a reason :D

So blackjack, how does INDY D look vs JAX next week if they get Sanders back. Obviously if they don't I'd look elsewhere.
Id look elsewhere.
They get Sanders back AND their two starting DTs back. Yet, I'd still look elsewhere - Jax is a bad matchup for Indy's D - though no Fred Taylor will help somewhat (Taylor is basically Indy D's Kriptonite over the years). I don't think Indy's D will get enough TOs and sacks to be a good fantasy play this week.
