and they cut Brandon Smith and Skinner today. We don't even have a real WR2, but we cut guys that looked good in camp for older jags. sigh
Back to Corley. Didn't JD say he had this guy ranked ahead of Brian Thomas? Oh man. I remember him trying to trade up in to the second round and then celebrating when they got him in the third.
Corely, Ruckert, Ashytn Davis, Zuniga, Polite, Ardarius Stewart, etc. All awesome third round picks.

That was the worst pick and my heart basically sank and got angry when I saw it because I knew how bad it was. Oh well.

Welp. In addition to Skinner and Brandon Smith getting cut, we also cut Pritchett. Sigh. I guess they think they are competing this year. Somehow that bum Gipson still has the return job.
I never thought we would still have Lazard and Clemons all these months later. That just tells you how much our depth stinks at those positions. Oh, and Zaire Barnes still has a job. Hopefully we pick up a LB tomorrow.
Brady Cook and Donavan Edwards were also notable cuts. At least Leonard Taylor made it.

They cut Corley about 9 months too late. I would have cut him the second that "touchdown" got overturned due to his stupidity.
You're a 3rd round pick who immediately goes into the doghouse because you can't pickup the playbook/playing with Rodgers. BIG RED FLAG, but that can happen.
You FINALLY get an opportunity to do what you allegedly do well and get to the end zone. And your first instinct is not to.....ya know.....actually score the touchdown. Its to do some sort of celebration that makes you look cool. I get that the NFL is a "LOOK AT ME!!!" league, but if you're gonna pull that crap, you better damn well make sure you have enough talent to get another shot and make up for your mistake pretty damn quickly. Corley clearly didn't.
Hope the YAC KING didn't spend too much of that singing bonus in one place. Bad combo of character, attitude and overrated talent coming from a small college program. All time Whiff by Douglas.

I remember seeing Corley in camp and declaring he's a bust. My friend said, how can you say that before his first NFL game. I said, you're right. It's just a bad feeling watching him. Something about his demeanor and he doesn't look elusive at all. The only way he could get all those alleged yards after catch would be against High School kids.
The drop at the goal line was the icing on the cake.
At the end of the day, I don't think this guy busting was all that important. At least not like whiffing on Wilson. Now that was a setback.

No, Wilson is the whiff of all whiffs.

Of course, I wanted Fields instead (who probably would be even further behind than he is if he had been with the Jets this whole time) so I'm not comparing myself to Parcells over here.

on corley, i saw an article or snippet on him, maybe from connor hughes. it seems that corley acted like a vet, when the room wanted and staff wanted him to be a rookie. he refused to play special teams and apparently irked davante adams and other vets when adams wanted his #17 and offered corley 80k, only to have corley ask for 180k. on the surface, maybe nonsense, but if you lose your teammates, you are toast.

i expect an 0-6 or 1-5 start to the season, before the panfer game. i think they lose the first 2 at home. lose on the road at TB and miami. lose at home to dallas and neutral loss to denver. maybe they steal one. if they do, maybe it’s miami?

We picked up TE Jelani Woods. I like it. He flashed some nice talent before he got hurt. Hopefully healthy now. Regardless, he can't be worse than Ruckert.
We also added a tackle and LB from KC. The tackle is someone we had a top 30 visit with and looked good in the pre-season. The LB is a supposed to be a special teams ace.

It would be better if they were in the running for the 1st pick - thats not a Jet thing. The usual is be out of contention by Halloween and win those few meaningless morale boosting games in December to lock in that 5th-10th pick in a 2 QB draft lol

In case you weren't sick enough this morning. You can all put up with this for as long as you want. The only thing I can think of that even approaches an appropriate response to Jets Way is to walk away (or lob a Molotov if you're crazy). Not another dime on this stupid product. I've already made people not spend a few grand when they wanted to take me to see Zach Wilson in Las Vegas. That would have been ludicrous and I put the kibosh on it. Screw that. Screw this bad trip. Why on earth would I pay for this ****?

I'm sure when I say what I'm about to say people are going to think that's pretty stupid or I get what I deserve but I seriously am more invested in the Jets for fantasy then any other team. I know, I know, what a formula for fantasy success since that worked out in probably never.

Yup - was never really counting on him to last. He seems to be another of those guys who had an injury-free college career (I think?), but can't seem to withstand the rigors of the NFL.

Yeah, I think Pittsburgh wins fairly easily but in a methodical way. I don't think Warren and Johnson have the kind of crazy talent where they're able to run all over the Jets, but Pittsburgh will move the ball enough to where they win pretty handily.

I understand the doom and gloom as they have not given fans any reason to have faith but im going in with a clean slate. Its not fair to the new regime to slap the same ol jets tag on them if they get out of the gate slow. Im looking for competence and competitive football - coaching and QB focus. Looking to be inspired and given hope - even if they lose a frustrating game to ol Arod.
