Article linked in the OP says: “Irsay had dealt with health issues of late, having been treated for severe respiratory illness in January of 2024 and, in March of last year, said he was doing well after his 26th surgery in the past seven years.”I know he had lifelong addiction issues but was he known to be sick recently? That’s pretty out of nowhere. Crazy.

Three things I’ll remember about Jim Irsay from stories that were told to me about him over the years:
- He made it a point to give every Colts employee a birthday card with a $100 bill.
- He would randomly give the homeless a wad of cash from time to time in hopes of helping them get back on their feet.
- When he was younger, he worked several positions in the organization to know what they were like before becoming owner. That included equipment, which also meant doing the team’s laundry.
Jim Irsay was a generous soul that wanted to see the good in people.
My condolences are with his daughters and their families.
Rock on, Mr. Irsay.
They've been involved in the day-to-day of the team for years, right?I have a good feeling that Irsay prepared his three daughters well for this. I really do.
Irsay-Gordon more than the other two, but yes, I mostly agree. They've been involved in the day-to-day of the team for years, right?I have a good feeling that Irsay prepared his three daughters well for this. I really do.
