Right leg injury, didn't look good. Carted off the field. Keiaho moves over to MLB and Hagler is now in the game.

He didn't appear to be in alot of pain when he was sitting on the cart, hope he comes outta this okay.

(RotoWire) Brackett (leg) is "highly doubtfull" for Week 14, according to 1070 Indianapolis.Analysis: The results of X-rays on Brackett's leg are still unavailable, but it's not looking good for the veteran linebacker.

Who takes MIC?... I read that Keiaho was taking the snaps for the rest of the game after Brackett went down... any info on this?

I've seen speculation that suggests Phillip Wheeler could take over, but I think it's pretty unlikely that the Colts will go that route when they've got another experienced backer like Hagler there. Keiaho played MLB when Brackett was out briefly last season and did so again last week. I think Hagler stays at WLB, and I think he plays in the nickel ahead of Session. We'll probably get some more information later in the week.

i have heard so many different opinions on who will lineup at MLB for them its making my head spin. first i heard keiaho would slide over and hagler would take over weakside, 2nd i heard that Philip Wheeler may get a start in the middle with Kieaho being dinged and/or easily ding'able. now i hear Buster Davis is gonna get the start in the middle and Kieaho/Hagler will play weakside. i guess Session's is the only sure thing at SLB. whoever gets the majority of snaps at MLB for the colts i think would be a goodplay, but who in the hell is it gonna be?

Time for more speculation. :goodposting:

The Indy media isn't always on top of every little development, but the news that Hagler would be the starting WLB (with Keiaho in the middle) was backed up by last season's alignment with Brackett out, last week's alignment with Brackett out and what appeared to be confirmation from Hagler himself after yesterday's team activities. Today, though it may be a little CYA, the same beat writers are speculating that Keiaho may be too dinged to handle the MLB spot, which means the Colts are more comfortable with Davis in the middle than anyone else currently on the roster. That says a lot for Hagler's potential to replace Keiaho next season, and it likely means that Phillip Wheeler or Clint Session could be in line for the WLB in 2009.

It's becoming increasingly hard to speculate what this week's alignments will look like. It was already just speculation that Hagler would join Keiaho in the nickel package this week. Buster Davis was playing with the second team nickel defense in Detroit this preseason, but that's not saying much. He's not known to be particularly good in coverage. It wouldn't be surprising to see Hagler as the nickel backer (ahead of both Session and Davis), as that's what happened last week, but if a Keiaho injury doesn't have something to do with the switch today, then Hagler's apparent demotion may extend to all packages.

Bottom line: The matchup with Cincinnati would suggest a big early lead for Indy and a bunch of nickel defensive snaps. Only Keiaho should be trusted, with Session, Davis and Hagler distant seconds.

Buster Davis To Replace Gary Brackett

Buster Davis is the new starting MLB in the Colts' Cover-2 for the next month. Questions, questions. Who is he? Will he be playing three downs or will Keiaho and Session stay in on passing downs? Do I pick him up for my fantasy playoffs?

Edit: My apologies. I didn't see the post by Jene before I started my thread. :goodposting:

Wed, Dec 3 The Associated Press reports Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy said LB Buster Davis will start at middle linebacker while LB Gary Brackett (leg) is out of the lineup.

(KFFL)

Dec 3 Davis will start at middle linebacker with Gary Brackett out with a broken bone in his lower leg, the Indianapolis Star reports.

Recommendation: This is a surprise since it was thought he'd start at the much less taxing strong-side linebacker spot. Davis could be a short-term option for IDP leagues since he'll get decent tackle totals.

PER ROTOWORLD:

Source: Indianapolis Star

Coach Jim Caldwell indicated that Freddie Keiaho could be the Colts' main backup at all three linebacker positions.

Caldwell called Keiaho "a guy that plays multiple positions, so he really gives us some insurance." The starting weak-side linebacker a year ago, Keiaho has been replaced by Clint Session. Phillip Wheeler is now at strong side.
