Infinite New York football Giants (2025 same as it ever was) (5 Viewers)

Disgusting loss. How can you not run the ball against Dallas?

How in the heck do you leave the one weapon that they have alone on an island?

Slayton and Wan’Dale with big drops.

And the refs.
Seems like the WRs no matter how good they are, come up small in the final minutes
Jones kinda of sux too ... He never completes a pass when he is moving, and still missing every deep ball

Van Roten gave up on the play where Nabers got hurt ... He could have thrown a block to buy DJ more time to throw but chose not to
I'd like to see them start working Evan Neal in at Guard ... Van Rotens been their worst Olineman and they cant just throw away a top 7 pick without at leas trying to move him
I'd still love to see him at LG next to Thomas ... Move Runyan, who has been only ok back to RG

What are you talking about? They TRIED pretty darn hard to run the ball.....24 carries.........For 26 yards.

I suspect he means that despite trying, they were unsuccessful against a team that previously was giving up gobs of rushing yardage.

I think I can describe what I saw last night:
- Two bad teams.
- The Giants line has improved from last year, I am conformable in saying that now. That isn't to say they are good, just that they are pass protecting better than they did last year. (not that it was difficult to get better. Not when you put the likes of any of us out there and we'd do just as good. Missing assignments, whiffing on blocks, getting pancaked on the regular...)
- I don't think the Cowboys are a very good team either. Holes are seemingly everywhere on that team. Left Tackle (sorry, zero sympathy there), Cornerback, Running back. Better teams than the Giants will kill those holes.
- (ETA): Jones has lost what ever downfield touch he might have had. He was consistently over throwing players in the first couple of weeks. Like 10 yard deep. Last night he was consistently under throwing people. Danny Dimes is dead. He cant seem to hit the broad side of a barn downfield. Short stuff he's been good. Downfield he's been hopeless.
- I am not sure either team deserved to win that game. Or lose it really. The refs decided that game within the first 3 series. Two awful blown calls that people watching on TV could see. The facemask screw up was a drive killer. 30 yard delta there, plus what ever yardage was lost (I'm pretty sure that a positive yardage play for the Giants). And a gift TD in a game where TDs were precious. Bah.

So... considering I wanted to see improvement on the line for the year... I think I ought to be happy. I still disgruntled, but it isn't like the Giants playoff chances were hurt or anything.

You guys got screwed by the refs in the first qtr twice. If you had been up in the fourth you would have gotten screwed some more. You may have won but we will never know. Thanks nfl

this game basically came down to Dak/Lamb vs Jones/Nabers on offense and Diggs vs Banks on defense
Giants lost on both sides ... Jones Stinks and Banks is "at best" a Corner 2 ... Flott may have been better last night

Also ... I'm sick of these 3rd/4th down drops by our WRs on crucial / game changing drives
Catch the damn ball!!!! Jones needs all the help he can get !!!!!!
Slayton would be a Stud if he had even decent hands ... he drops almost anything that is slightly difficult

Giants need to stop forcing Theo Johnson on us ... The guy stinks ! He is a project at best not a starting rookie TE !
He wasnt even a starter at Penn State !?!?!? Revive Bellingers career ... he is a much better player than Theo!

**** try!

Dallas had given up 93, 190 and 274 yards rushing in the previous 3 games. Yet the Giants managed just 26.

As a passive outside the ropes observer .... given that DJ isn't the QB of the future, I'm surprised they don't use him more in the run game. If he gets dinged up so be it. If he's got one thing going for him it's running and size. There was a designed option play where he kept it and got like 6 yards for the first down. That looked better than anything Singleton did. That guy gets his stats via volume. He's not very good. Anyway, DJ in space would seem to be better than DJ in the pocket. I think it's poor play design.

His torn ACL from less than a year ago may explain his reduced ability to run much just yet. Think Kyler Murray after he tore his ACL - took him awhile to get back to being able to scramble effectively.

The injury guarantee of $23mm for 2025 may be playing a role in this as well as the ACL noted above. Granted I'm not sure how the numbers work via cap hit if that guarantee is triggered.

Releasing him after this season appears to save approximately $19mm in cap, without the injury guarantee in play.

FWIW, I thought Jones looked fairly competent in that game. he certainly wasn't the reason NYG lost. The complete ineptitude in the running game was the reason they lost. It's hard to score in the red zone averaging 1 yard a rush

I agree lack of a run game hurt.
Also a horrible night for the part time officials.
Also Daniel Jones underthrowing EVERY deep pass.
Also Brian Daboll being very conservative on a few fourth downs.

As an impartial observer, I don't think they looked that bad. They're a few plays from from being 3-0 (with Saquon, I think they would be). I know you can say that about a lot of teams, but this doesn't look like a dumpster fire to me. The East will be competitive so I wouldn't write them off just yet. And if you do, at least you get to watch Nabers. He's legit.

That has nothing to do with being conservative on 4th down ... they have 3 other downs to score a TD. 4th and Short the goal is a new set of downs

I'm not all that impartial. Giants have been at or near the top of my can't stand list since I knew what a football was. But I agree. NYG are not a good team, but they are no dumpster fire either. Jones is probably not as bad as the memes and jokes make him out to be, I think they have a solid coach, and Nabers is a beast. Some growth on the lines this year and another solid draft they could be dangerous next year. Meanwhile, they're gonna win a couple this year folks won't expect them to.

:ROFLMAO: Now I am curious. Who do you root for? And why such vehemence towards the Giants. Don't get me wrong, I have my own set of teams on the hate-watch list. Just interested in what put the Giants on top of yours.

To your real point. Yes, the Giants are improved from last year. They have a long way to go before they are consistently competitive and can finish out games. They've had 2 GMs that have damaged the team for at least 10 years. You can't recover from that type of damage in a year or two. Jury is still out on Schoen. Perhaps he joins the list, perhaps not.

Die hard Eagles all my life. Giants aren't at the top of that list right now given how poor they've been the last few years....but there aren't many opponents I'd be rooting for them against either

What do you guys think about this take from Cowherd?
https://x.com/TheHerd/status/1839719657047273643
I agree with it ...
Sure if you throw Allen, Mahomes, or Brady on any team it's going to make them better
There just arent that many of those types of QBs to go around

DJ is not losing games for the Giants but he's not winning games either
Despit that, the Giants need to learn how to win these games as a team
To many boneheaded crucial drops ... doesnt matter who the QB is if you dont catch the ball.
The kicking debacle vs WAS
Poor coaching decisons etc ...

I still dont undertsand why the Giants, starting with Bellinger, didnt go crazy over that horrible facemask call !!!
That to me was the turning point, and whether they change the call or not, you still have to make the refs aware of what a huge **** up that was !

Then later when a flag was thrown and picked up on an obvious holding call ... That's not OK !

Malik Nabers out, Devin Singletary doubtful and Wan'Dale questionable against the Seahawks.

Looks like Jalin Hyatt will get a chance to show what he can do this season.
Giants are 6.5 or 7 point underdogs

Not enough. Seattle will be all over Jones. No real threat downfield without Malik.
Seattle will stop whatever run game the Giants might try and Daniel will be black and blue after this one.
Hate to say it but I think Seattle wins easily and Giants fans start making their "QB wish list" for next years draft.

Ok. I didn’t see all of that. Was pretty sure I didn’t want to when this day started. Gotta say, I’m a bit stunned they found a way to win that.

Hyatt did not even get a target. What a waste of a 3rd rounder.

Surprising win for the G-Men. Both wins this season have come after a disastrous starts and blunders by Eric Gray.
I’d like to see the offense a little better in the red-zone but one can’t have everything.

Say what you want about Jones (I’m not his biggest fan) he was good today. 23/34 for 257 yards 2 TD. He connected with Slayton on a couple of deep passes too. The Giants are 2nd in the league in dropped passes BTW.
The Rookie Tracy looked good running the rock today! 18 carries for 129 yards
Obviously, the OL was good today.

The secondary was getting schooled by Lockett most of the day but Banks was good against Metcalf today.
The pass rush was productive. They had 6 or 7 sacks.
To quote a former Giants legend

A rostered kicker away from 3-2.
Two at home coming up.
Prime Time against Cinncy and the...
The Saquan Barkley Redemption Tour.
:-)

This was a pretty big *** kicking ... Giants outplayed Seattle in every aspect of the game
Destroyed them in the trenches, ran all over them (Tracy looked fantatstic) , shut down Seattles run game, and Banks totally took Metcalf out of the game.
Take away the questionable fumble at the Goal line (14 pt swing ) and the score wouldve refleted how lopsded this was

Seattle was ok, the stadium and fans are great, the weather was surprisingly perfect ... but Washington in general is amazing !! Made Trips to Bainbridge and San Juan Islands which were absolutely amazing. The islands off Washington are incredible ... I would recommend it for anyone if you have the chance.

What’s up with Jaylin Hyatt? Was he active against Seattle? If so, he did it get a target with Nabers being out?
He was active against the Seahawks, he played a few snaps but did not get any targets.
Looks like he will get another shot with Nabers out again

Andrew Thomas getting MRI on foot after rough Giants showing

Thomas was schooled all night long and had a massive penalty to negate a 56 yard play

Hopefully it's more of a bruised ego than a foot problem

Giants Oline in general was terrible pass blocking last night ... probably their worst game of the year and untimely vs a terrible defense

Giants didn't miss Thibodeux at all ... Ojulari and Burns were fantastic

If the Giants go with Josh Ezeudo over Evan Neal ... Both Shoen and Daboll should be fired
Neal might suck but he's a top 7 pick in the draft that has been playing out of position since they drafted him
You have to at least give him a final chance to prove himself at the position that he established himself @ Bama
We already know that Ezeudo sux no matter where you put him ... and now they are going to play him at LT !?!?!?
Are you kidding me ??

There is something more to this Evan Neal thing then meets the eye
I was at the Giants Seattle game 3rd row 50 ydline on the Giants sideline
Neal was completely isolated from the rest of the team for almost the entire game
The only time I saw him talk to anyone was at the end of the game when he walked over to talk to License Plate Guy - Joe Ruback
If they have no plan for him (and they clearly dont) trade him or let him go

Oh boy.
Wake me up when this nightmare is over.
You guys have had a rough go for awhile. Would love to the Giants competitive again, hopefully they can land some hope at QB next year and start building towards that.

Daboll -

"We’ve had six weeks here in the regular season where Evan (Neal) has taken, I’d say, the majority of right tackle snaps in case something happened to Jermaine (Eluemunor). (Joshua) Ezeudu has taken left tackle snaps. But then, once this happens, you have discussions about how you want to approach it. We’ll do a few things here this week and then ultimately after Friday’s practice, we’ll make our decision on how we’re going to go with that.

“Jermaine (Eluemunor) will start out today at the right side. We’ll put Ezeudu in here at the left. Then we’ll rotate guys around throughout the week. However it goes, we’ll give the majority of reps to however it sorts out early in practice, on Thursday, and then ultimately on Friday. You’re not going to replace an Andrew Thomas. I feel terrible for him."

******
I do agree that we need to see if Neal has anything to offer this team going forward, not sure will see it this week though. Lot of games left.

Ironic the guy who referred to fans as hamburger flippers may be heading that way himself.
