Injuries this season (1 Viewer)

Is it just me, or has there seemed to be a lot more injuries this season? I wonder if Chase or someone else has the ability to total up lost player-games this season and compare to other seasons?

I know that it's been pretty rough on the Bills this season.

Here are the guys that they've had to put on IR already:

Anthony Thomas

Kiwaukee Thomas

Matt Murphy

Derek Schouman

Kevin Harrison

Paul Posluszny

Jason Webster

Ko Simpson

Kevin Everett

I certain wouldn't want to play TE for the Bills as four of those guys are TEs.

Not only have those guys been put on IR, but these guys all have missed 4+ games (I may have missed one or two guys as well):

Ryan Denney

Keith Ellison

Ashton Youboty

Coy Wire

Peerless Price

That a full 14 guys that have missed at LEAST 4 games!!

Things have been so ugly for the Bills, that they signed one guy to the team, and just a few days later he got hurt on the opening kickoff of the game and had to be put on the IR.

And of course the fantasy world has been absolutely decimated by injuries this season. Guys have either been affected directly, or even indirectly (Delhomme killing SS's value). Has this been a typical season, or have there really been more major injuries?

Kudos to Jauron for having this team over .500 & still in playoff hunt with 3 to go.

I know people will jump in here and say "typical NFL season", but just from the rash of RB injuries it seems like an unusual year to me. Off the top of my head Buffalo, NYG, Tampa, NO, Denver, KC, Mia, GB all have had their #3 RB start at least 1 game.

The 6-7 Texans have, I think, around 17 players on IR YTD. I think they had a bunch last year too ... some teams just can't catch a break.

Been a bad year for Houston too. They lead the league with 17 players on Injured Reserve.

The secondary currently consists of one starter and a 4th stringer at safety, and third and fourth stringers at cornerback. LT never played a snap this year. Starting QB knocked out of several games and missed the last one completely. Starting RB gone. Lost the starting center early in the year. Of the 2 best players on the team, one is on IR and the other was injured for half the year but is back now. Lost the former pro bowl kick returner who looked like he was getting close to his old form. Had the rookie standout punt returner injured for about 1/3 of the year and he hasn't been as impressive since the injury. Lost the right guard and his backup, and haven't heard the LG's status after being injured yesterday, hopefully we don't lose him as well.

The fact they've gone through all of that and have already equaled last season's win total is a good sign for the Texans future, I think.
