This might be a stupid question but what does this mean?
rec.sport.football.fantasy was a popular newsgroup "back in the day" and Donny frequented it.Newsgroup(short of a long explanation) was an old fashioned stripped down message board

Okay, thanks. By the way, I went back and looked at some old PM's from last year and it was definitely him causing a lot of problems in the mock drafts. The funny thing was that he would change his username, but it was similar to his old one, so he still couldn't get in the mocks.

Sounds like the same clown that caused problems on xpertsports in mocks.

To better understand rec.sport.football.fantasy, think of the Shark Pool being the ONLY forum, 10% or less of the number of users on FBGs, very simple graphics (outline view instead of standard view for threads), and 14.4K modems being considered blazingly fast. There was, however, the same level of arguing and name-calling as you see today. I can remember the arguments debating Terry Kirby vs. Derek Loville being as volatile and demonstrative as any I've seen on FBGs (and its predecessor, cheatsheets.net). For me, it was great getting back into the forums this year after three years or so of being too busy with other pursuits if for no other reason than to see that little has changed in this regard in more than ten years.Anyway, in its time, rsff gave an even greater advantage to its participants than the FBG forums do today (at least in my opinion). There was very little competition and inside information available elsewhere online. I still remember winning my 1996 league because I was the only person at my draft who had information from a Miami native (posted on rsff) that Karim Abdul-Jabbar would be the starter instead of Bernie Parmalee. Good memories!

I didn't realize there were FF sites back then although I think I started playing back in 1998. I didn't get serious until 2001 when I found FFToday, and now that it's been down, I've been here. It's a little more tame here, but basically it's not much different.

He sure seems to have burned a lot of bridges over a long period of time.

Donny has been around a long time. He knows the hobby well. Yes, he tends to go off on people too often. Yes, he's been wrong before. Yes, he's a crappy typist (I know he will admit that one at least). However, we're not going to pile on the dude. He's been plenty successful through the years and deserves at least a little credit.

I'm not trying to pile on, it just seemed a little strange how many people mentioned incidents with(what seems to be) the same person. That's the only reason I kept posting about it. It's not really a big deal to me, so that's the end of the piling on.

No problem. Donny does tend to draw lots of attention to himself. However, I've been really appreciative that he's kept his cool on our boards. (Thanks again, man)The RSFF was total mayhem in the old days. Magnificent *******, Its Polar, Beezmach, etc. Damn, I sure do miss Beal. That dude was funny.

absolutely not fishing here..i have called for him to leave Pitt for three years now and am sure I am 100% right. He is just not the guy for that job anymore..his way of coaching has been worn out in Pitt for a few years now and the players just don't play for him anymore. All he can do is coach defense and that D was made a fool of today once again. What has he ever won in Pitt? He has never once won the big game and will never do it. Rah rah rah physical can only get you so far. Its all about the X's and O's now and he just does not have it in that department. He has had great teams and not done anything with them..he has had great players and done nothing with them but let them go in free agency. Sure its not all his fault but you can bet if he wanted to keep more of the stars he has lost they would still be in Pitt. If you Pitt fans don't realize that Cowher is a lame duck coach there then you will never win anything. Until he is gone it will never get any better than it is right now in Pitt. Deal with it cause its FACT. A change of head coahing is needed in Pitt bigtime.
Shark Attack, you'll have to pardon me if I don't take you too seriously here. :lmao:
THE NFL WANTED ROONEY AND BETTIS TO WIN AND REFS HAD IT OUT FOR HOLMGREN IN THE GAME AND IF YOU COULD NOT TELL THAT YOUR THEN ONE I CANT TAKE TO SERIOUSLY. THAT WAS THE WORST MOST LOPSIDED REFEREED GAME EVER.and yes i do believe this is hat happened...the gave one to the Pats and this was Pitts turn..plus remember ho pissed the refs got at Holmgren earlier in the year for calling them out on a few calls? They put him one a two week probation from talking over the questionable calls in his teams games. It was the first time this action was taken on any NFL coach..come on..the offensive pass interference on DJack as total BS I have seen that happen 100 times and 100 times it was a TD..the key holding calls on Seattle were ones that were never called during the regular season never mind the SB. The call on Hass for making a tackle It goes on and on at least seven BS calls on Seattle that had no right being called and if thye were not the outcome would have been much different..Pitt did nothing on that game to impress me.
In the interest of civility, I will not respond to this. Besides, I think it speaks for itself.

And finally FBG or any other fantasy football content site (Rotoworld, Kffl, etc) does not have to give two ####s about the NFLPA and licensing.  It's 1st amendment free speech.

People have to stop lumping the two together....

and by the way - What the hell site are you talking about..
Last time I checked, the NFLPA wasn't a government entity, so how does the 1st Amendment have anything to do with their actions? People have to stop lumping the two together.
the guy was right..they aren't going after fantasyindex or the huddle.com..if it was true,we couldn't talk about celebrities, nascar drivers, tennis stars, etc then..

  I was strictly a lurker on RSFF, but just the mention of MB, Beal and Dommy T brings back great memories. :D Lots of the guys listed here first made a name for themselves on RSFF, including Joe B.
