I am in a 12 team league that starts 1 QB 1 RB 2 WR 1 TE 1 FLEX 1 K 1 DEF.

Our scoring for QBs:

3pt per TD thrown

1pt per 25yds passing

6pt per rush/rec TD

1pt per 10 yds rush/rec.

Here is the cheetsheet order based on VBD

5.3 Manning

2.7 Bulgar

2.7 Young

2.6 Brady

2.5 Brees

1.9 Romo

I had to look twice....evidently you take away that 1pt per TD (3 instead of 4) and Vince Young shoots up the board. Considering his ADP is around late 7th round you can see what kind of value I have with him in my league.

His average projections that are used on this vbd:

Young 2,803 16 td 16.5 int 604 rush 4.9 TD

I could actually see him having a better year on the ground than that.

The stats a passing QB (I used bulgar) would have to match to pass up Young if Vince put up those exact stats above:

Bulgar 4,118 24.3 TD 12.3 INt 49 rush .5 TD

Thats a pretty good year from a QB, just to match Vince average year through the air....all because of his ground game.

those passing yards seem to be a few hundred yards better than an average year for him which i see being more like 2300-2450.

This is the exact reason Vick has been so valuable in my league. We have the same scoring and people still let him fall. Last year was our first year doing an auction and I got laughed at for bidding $3 on Vick.

Young = Kordell Stewart

That can be interpreted in a couple of different ways. When Kordell was on (97,01) he was a fantasy monster. On the other hand he had some lean years and some terrible years.Anyways I think the point should be clear by now. If Randall Cunningham, Steve Young, Kordell Stewart, Steve McNair, Donovan McNabb,Jeff Garcia, Daunte Culpepper, and Michael Vick have taught us anything by now it's that running qbs are fantasy gold. Why should be expect anything different from Vince Young? Unless you believe in curses that is.

He had 2,200 yards passing and 12 passing TD's as a rookie who started only 13 games. With a year under his belt and 3 extra games, 2,800 yards passing and 16 passing TD's seems like a pretty reasonable projection (he would only have to average 175 passing yards per game). Even if that is too high, I think 2300-2450 is too low given last year's numbers and the improvement in his numbers as the season progressed. 2300 would only be 143 passing yards per game. If he stays healthy, that seems way too low to me.I agree with the original poster that his system favors Vince in a big way. 3 pts per passing TD instead of 4, and 1 pt for 25 yards passing instead of 20, while rushing TD's get 6 pts and you get 1 pt for every 10 yards rushing. Vince could easily be a top 5 QB in that scoring system, even if his passing numbers aren;t very good.
