Is All The Toilet Paper Ruined? Costco Ruined Their Generic Brand. (1 Viewer)

Kirkland ruined their toilet paper. Is this happening with all the others? It's like writing paper now. Just an FYI. Don't buy it in bulk.

Apparently the person in charge here of these things has also complained. I just hate to see a good product suffer from a form of shrinkflation.

And I am concerned about fiber and flying to close to the sun, which is a pretty classic way to put it. Heh.

That’s a beautiful euphemism. Gonna have to steal it.

McBokonon comes up with some pretty good stuff. Takes after his authorial referent. (It's Vonnegut, IIRC.)

I think that is about the only Costco-brand product I haven't been a fan of since going there. I use the savings on other stuff to splurge on the Charmin for my delicate booty.

We have been buying Costco toilet paper for the past 10 years. I hadn't noticed a change but because of this thread I checked and it does seem thinner than I remember. When did they make the change?

Very recently. You might still be using the old stuff. You'd know the new stuff in a heartbeat.

I haven't noticed a difference. However a few years ago I thought I noticed that the Kirkland brand was producing more toilet paper dust than before. I'm still buying it but maybe it's time to switch.

This is definitely true with the Costco brand. Our TP holder always looked like the floor of a saw mill.

I have no idea what toilet paper dust is. I guess that's a vote for the premium brand.

TP dust... I give the toilet paper a twirl around my two index fingers and voila... a very modest stack of TP to get that initial wipe, followed by the bidet, and a second TP stack to make sure its all clean and dry. The TP dust when we use the Costco rolls are noticeable in the air when that direct sunlight hits, it's on the TP roll hanger, as well as the rim of our potted plant just to the side. The TP dust may happen with all TP, but I certainly notice it a lot more when its a Costco roll.

I'm still all-in on Sam's Club TP.

I noticed the Kirkland brand TP being much poorer quality about a year ago. We actually returned it and got a refund after partially using a couple of rolls. Since then, we've been buying Charmin whenever it's on sale at Costco.
