Is anybody looking to trade Titan players... (1 Viewer)

I may be looking to trade Chris Johnson this week and am curious to see if people would agree with my logic. First off, I know he's been great, but he does not get enough goal line carries to me. I also see the Titans playing it safe when the clinch the division which could present some problems during fantasy playoffs. Then there's the issue of the Titans playing Pittsburgh in week 16? Am I crazy looking to trade him?

Thoughts?

No opinions on this? Someone at least call me crazy on this.. Anyways, I just traded away Chris Johnson, Boldin, and Jake Delhomme for Ladanian, McNabby, and Marvin Harrison. Here's to hoping LT picks it up a little. I just don't think the Titans will be using their starters when they clinch and during the fantasy run.

It seems like nearly every year there are at least a few teams where people worry too much about this. It could happen, but I think the trend in the NFL is in the other direction--teams try to keep their momentum into the playoffs. Even when teams do start to rest players they don't seem to do it as early as armchair coaches seem to expect. I don't really waste a lot of time worrying or trying to predict these things--teams shutting down key players that are less than 100% as they fall out of contention has to be at least as big of a concern, but I'm not going to try to predict that either.

Then, as has already been pointed out, if the Titans get through the next 2 games, they have a real shot at 16-0, which is going to put them in an interesting dilemma. On the flip side, they could stumble a couple of times in the next few weeks and find one of the 3 loss teams breathing down their neck for home field.

Anyway, I think week 17 is the most likely, especially if they're, say, 14-1 at that point. Any earlier and you worry about losing your edge you've played with all year. There's also the question of whether you want to get beat by 2 potential playoff opponents (Steelers, Colts) heading into the post-season.

Do you honestly think they're going to check out four weeks before their first playoff game? (Sure to get a bye, that's two weeks. Week 17 and 16 would be two more).

Even then fantasy season is usually over by week 16.

I just don't see it.

Who knows what will happen. All I know is that they have a huge lead in their division, and I just don't think they will go 16-0. I see them slipping somewhere, maybe this weekend on the road at Jacksonville. Once they lose, it only makes sense that they would want to rest their players. I'm not saying players like CJ3 and Lendale will NOT play, but I just have a gut feeling that they may only play a half or so. If they try and go 16-0, then sure I could see the Titans starting their usuals. JMO.

Teams learn from other team's mistakes. Don't rest their players too much in the regular season. 1 game max (2 if they get a bye).

I would not worry about this. Titans have played the packers for the past three years on the last gane in preseason. Fisher requires that the starters play through three quarters. My guess is that he is not one of those who buys into the "resting" myth. Iis a BS concept and most people know that by now.

Fisher would have to be either blind or crazy not to see how resting starters killed the Colts on more than one occasion over the last few years. Resting starters that much does one thing, it kills momentum. The team playing the best come playoff time has the best shot at the Super Bowl IMO.

Man that trade is awful, dynasty or redraft.

In a league that gives bonus points for aging superstars it's only a moderately lopsided trade.Oof.

One of the worst deal i have seen ( Dynasty or redraft changes nothing ) bad bad bad deal.Jhonsosn much better then LT.Boldin and Harrison not even close ( Actually Harrison has zero value he is done ) Delhomme - McNabb pretty even .terrble deal for you .
