Is anyone benching Michael Turner (1 Viewer)

anyone benching The Burner??

I was thinking of playing Reggie Bush over him...I know I know.

ATL has a high powered offense - and Turner is the goal line back. Yards might be low, but I bet he reaches at least 1 TD maybe 2

Terrible matchup and he's away from home where he doesn't do as well. Unfortunately my best options behind him are McGahee and Carter. McGahee might be a better play but it's hard to start a backup over a starter.

I'm hoping for 60 yards total and a TD. I think he can get me that.

Considering Bess over him in a PPR but probably won't follow through. May consider Ward if Foster is out. I figure 50-1 and 1-5-0 receiving is reasonable meaning if you are sure your PPR option can outdo 12 points then swap otherwise maybe he'll get that 2nd TD plunge.

Nope. Not even close. The falcons teams of the past were much more 'close to the vest'/conservative, and heavily reliant on the run. This allowed opposing D's, especially hyper aggressive D's like CHI to stack the box and dare Ryan to throw downfield. With and extra year of confience & the offensive weapons they have upgraded on the outside (julio>>jenkins & douglas>>>finneran & quizz >> norwood) I think that open up the inside running lanes for Turner a little more. I think Turner is a fine play this week.

Plus the falcons D is vastly improved and should be starting from much better field position. Happy this game is being played in sept and not December from a FF perceptive.

Turner really plays poorly outside. Check his game logs. If I had a decent starting option I would sit him this week for sure.

Let the season play out a little before you start benching your studs. You'll drive yourself nuts every week. Just hope the rest of your roster makes up the difference.

I saw a lot of my leagues bench turner for ingram and ingram ended up with 13 for 40 and no TDs.

I thought about starting Jacobs b/c of the matchup but no way Jacobs gets as many touches as Turner. Touches = opportunities. That much is guaranteed. Everything else is arguable but it in the end pure speculation.

Well put. But softer defense = more first downs and more offensive plays = more production and more opportunities for more touches. Versus Balt, Pitt and Philly last year Turner got 15-19 or so touches because he was shut down. Never broke 55 yards as I recall. So I'd rather play some good, but lesser players (e.g., Jacobs) if the defense is clearly softer.

Turner is NOT a stud in ppr leagues, and therefore is "benchable." Of course, this all relative, b/c it depends on who you have on the bench.

I'm tempted to agree and act on that with Jacobs but I gotta give it at least one week, trust my starting lineup and hope the addition and accounting of Julio Jones frees up the running lanes enough for Turner. Im hopeing for 60 a TD and the rest of my roster making up the points. It's all arguable but initially I'd like to trust the guys I drafted as starters.

Guys before you bench him think about this scenario. If the Falcons do wantbto air it out more with their great stable of wr's and have sone early success CHI won't be stacking the box. I see Burner having more room this year as defenses will be forced to respect the passing game as a whole. If they get near the goalline it will be burner FTW. As an earlier poster mentioned, he may not tear up the yardage this week but I would not be surprised if he ends up with a td or 2! I see Burner having a bounce back year this year similar to what Jamal Lewis was able to do with the Browns once they had a passing game. Nobody has a better nose for the end zone than Turner.

See previous comment!A bounce back year from 1371 and 12 TDs?

Would have benched him behind Foster and DWill. I know he is drafted ahead of DWill but I have had both for years now and I need DWill's ceiling this week more than Turners higher floor.
