Is Ben Roethlisberger as good as Tom Brady? (2 Viewers)

This game didn't change my opinion of either Ben or Aaron too much. It's not like all of a sudden Ben "can't" win in the clutch. The guy has done it how many times before? There isn't a Packer fan in the world who saw 2:00 left on the clock with the ball in Ben's hands and didn't at least think..."oh, ####". And even though he didn't finish this time, it doesn't change my opinion of him being one of the most clutch players in the league. It also doesn't change my opinion that he isn't the type of guy you're going to have carry your football team for an entire season.

Rodgers is where I thought he was, but it's nice to see the guy deliver. Maybe he didn't win a playoff game before this year, but the guy has played well under pressure before. He was great in last year's playoff loss. His first game as a starter after Brett left may be the most scrutinized first game for a starting QB ever. His games against Favre. The last two regular season games this year...all of them high pressure games and he delivered in all of them. These playoffs just reinforced what many already knew about Aaron.

On the radio on the drive in one of the commentators said "All season long, defenses knew that Aaron Rodgers was going to have to beat them. The playoffs and the Super Bowl were no different. And he delivered all year"

To me, that is the difference between guys like Aaron, Peyton, Tom...versus Ben.

Don't get me wrong, nobody can do it alone. Let's not forget that Rodgers had a great defense all year. But he had NO running game. Teams knew he was going to throw it and he still beat them.

Old thread but I thought I would revive it after yesterday's insane performance:

522 yards

40/49

No picks

0 Sacks

6 TDs

This was vs a very good defense.

The first and only NFL player with two 500 yard passing games.

His stats always seem so much like a game manager most of the time, and then every so often he just yanks one of these out.

rapistberger is a top tier qb, and i would never knock him, but if we're going by stats I'd be curious to see what the numbers would look like if we swapped lafell for antonio brown.

colts lost their top corner in the game, and he gets replaced by a pretty terrible 2010 udfa, but you can't take anything away from a game like that --- that was absolutely amazing.

owner in my league started cutler over him lolz

While Indys D is pretty good and Ben's day was insane no matter how you slice it. It's worth pointing out that V. Davis basically didn't play. He's was maybe the best CB in the NFL so far this year. Losing him was a huge blow. Pitt and Ben abused the guy who came in as replacement.

As insane as his day was, Ben had a couple drops that would have gone for long gains. The big difference yesterday was that the o-line did a fantastic job giving him time.

I don't disagree but the first TD to Wheaton was vs Davis.
