Is Brett Favre Still Worth Owning in No INT Leagues? (1 Viewer)

Well he won't have to face the Bears D every week. This week's game against NO should be a good test of how he'll fare the rest of the season. If GB's offense can't get on track this week, I wouldn't look for much from Favre the rest of the way.

He has exactly one touchdown pass in his last six games. Even if your scoring system doesn't punish interceptions, he isn't going to produce anything.

yea... in his last 4 starts against N.O., Favre has 1 INT and 10 TDs... he probably performs well against them because he knows all his hometown folks will be watchingif he doesn't have a respectable game this week... i think it's time to pull the plug

I would say yes. He will need to throw in most games and the big knock is his INT's. If it's me I keep him

Good Luck

update please
You Favre-slurpers are getting a little out of control today.Sure, he had a good game... against a relatively weak opponent. So that puts him at 13 TDs to 7 INTs on the season. That's a huge improvement over last season's debacle, but it's not exactly earth-shaking. He's still posted more INTs than TDs in almost a third of his games this year. Tell me you would have been satisfied with that ten years ago.Favre is simply one of the better QBs to ever play the game. I don't want to run him off before he feels he is through, but let's not make him out to the top signal-caller in the game. He simply isn't any more. You guys are making yourselves look foolish by bumping every thread in the last twelve months that approached the topic of Favre with some criticism.

they aren't a weak opponent. Favre is due some credit this year, he's earned it. He got killed last year when he had bad stats and he should get props now that he's put up some good stats.

"Some criticism". :lmao: The guy has been bashed here often and you have been a part of that. The only ones that look foolish are the Favre haters. Deal with boys.....I know it drives you nuts but Favre isn't done and my support of him pains the haters to no end. :D

What player doesn't get bashed here? There are weekly threads jumping on Peyton, Vick, Tomlinson, etc. Big Deal! Favre hasn't looked awful... and you feel that's some great accomplishment worthy of bumping every thread in the concerning Favre in the forum? That, in itself, ought to tell you just how far his skills have declined. As far as your support of him goes, who really gives a crap? It doesn't affect his play. The only reason it is annoying is that it causes a flood of old threads and usually consist of nothing more than insults and pointless smilies. And for my bashing, you know that I have also supported him for being a guy who never gives up, even when all looks dark. I love his gunslinger attitude. For years, I would have given up just about anybody or anything on my team to have had him. I wouldn't now though. That doesn't mean I hate him. It just means that I realize his skills have slipped. That doesn't mean he sucks. It just means he's getting older. It's happened to every great player who has ever played this game and will affect every great one playing now and in the future. The onlt thing that bothers me about Favre is when he goes into his annual offseason attention-whoring party when he calls weekly press conferences just to say he doesn't know if he's going to retire or not. If I hated him, this wouldn't bother me. It's because I admire him that makes me think this kind of behavior is embarassing.

Care to clarify what you think Minnesota's record is thus far?I'm giving him credit. He's looked decent. He hasn't done anything breathtaking though, so let's not blow a good game against a so-so opponent out of proportion.

Two excellent examples of the typical response when someone does bring any kind of criticism against Favre. Forget all of the good things I said about him. Focus only on the 10% of my post that cast him as anything other than Superman with a "4" instead of an "S" and then insult the poster and add pointless smilies instead of adding any quality commentary or counter-arguments. Good job of making it obvious why people hate the Favre-slurpers around here.

And this is a typical example of a Favre hater spewing crap. :lmao:

Learn to read, pal. I don't hate Favre. I have no reason to.
I guess you missed this quote you just wrote....

Do you have a point? What you fail to comprehend is that a person can like an athlete and respect his career without drooling all over his jockstrap.

Once again, no clear-minded responses from the Favre-slurpers, just insults and pointless smilies. Go ahead and continue the nonsense. I'll no longer respond to it unless you have something of actual worth to post.

Minn's record is irrelevant. They've got an excellent defense (#6 overall) and were playing at home.

I don't see any of the 4 or 5 old Ahman Green threads that usually get bumped?

They're conspicuosly missing today. Who is the that guy who normally bumps them & I wonder why he hasn't?

Because the Green detractors(including yourself) have all admitted they were wrong. However, since you bring it up I would like to hear from you again how Morency would make Ahman Green virtually useless from a fantasy perspective. That was classic. :lmao:

To begin with just a little correction is in order here.I said I thought it very unlikely that Green would be able to come back from the torn quad according to all the medical reports, but his performance in pre season would be the key.At the time of the thread on Morency, reports out of Green Bay said Green would seed his 3rd down back duties and pass catching. It was reported it would be to Morency. However if I'm not mistaken, his back is all busted up right now and Morency is not even playing. Be that as it may, Green has indeed had his workload reduced as was reported would happen & lost his opportunites in the passing game, regardless of it being Morency or Herron who replaces him in those situationsGreen had still kept chugging along quite nicely until today. Unfortunately his reduction in workload as far as the passing game goes, obviously adversely affected him today.Probably just a hiccup though.
