Is D. Davis' career as a starter done? (1 Viewer)

To start with, I have always been a fan of DD since his rookie year. I remember watching a Vikings game the first year he was in the league and I was so impressed that he was a 4th round pick. He had speed, moves and vision.

He has done well in his short carear. However, he seems to have an injury proneness to him. This last year the writing seemed to be on the wall for him with Reggie Bush sitting there for the Texans to draft. They passed on him to give DD a shot at being the starter for this year. Now, it's not looking good for him this year. His knee is in trouble. I haven't been able to find a good answer about his knee medically.

So, my question for you guys is three fold.

Will he ever be 100% again in his career?

If he doesn't make it to 100% by the end of the year will the Texans draft a RB early next year and threrefore put his career as a starter in jeapardy?

If his knee doesn't ever get back to 100% is his career as a starter over?

My interest in your answers is fan and fantasy football based. Any medical details you can add would be very appretiated.

Given the deterioration of his knee, it's difficut to believe any NFL team would pursue him as a "starter". If he does come back, I'd see somebody trying to utilize him as a 3rd down back with limited carries per game - trying to gain limited production while not aggravating his knee injury. I personally have never owned him and certainly wouldn't now.

Well he is on the IR now and out for the year. He's going to have to make a recovery, and fight back for a starting position. My guess is he may end up as a 3rd down back somewhere, if he is able to play at all.
