Is Darren Sproles overvalued this year? (1 Viewer)

Last season sproles was heavily used partly because the kid is awesome, but also partly bc of injuries to mark Ingram, Chris ivory, ET al.

With a healthy rb rotation and Ingram surely to be given more of a chance to carry a bigger load this season, is it not feasible that sproles is relegated to 3rd down duties?

If that happens, he is being drafted way too high and people will be very disappointed.

Thoughts?

His usage had nothing to do with Ingram or Ivory. He was brought in to play the same role that Reggie Bush had. He did a much you better job than Bush. I'm not saying he will score as many points as last year, but his usage will be the same.

If you believe the Saints will continue to be a high octane passing team, then there's a chance he'll produce similiar to what he did last year. There are no indications that he will be used any differently than he was last year.

I personally am avoiding him. If Ingram shows health and improvement, he is a capable receiver as well. At the price he is going for I think drafters will be disappointed.

I agree with this. What is his adp 2nd or early 3rd rd? I think sproles is fraking lightning in a bottle don't get me wrong. I think he has the physical tools to repeat TE numbers I just think his situation will be different. People who drafted him last year bought low and it paid huge dividends. I really feel like this year its the exact opposite he can only come down in production with a healthy Ingram, thomas, and ivory and people are drafting him ahead of legit rb1s

in ppr return yardage leagues he was probably top 5 last year, and did even better in the playoffs.

I don't have any return yardage league adp, but if he's going around rb12 I think you've got some cushion before the disappointment threshold.

edit: and I really doubt he gets taken in the first, even if you score return yardage.
