Is it just me or does KC have a college type atmosphere (1 Viewer)

The crowd just reminds me of a college crowd at a bowl game.

They are an amazing crowd, I can't even imagine if they were a dominant team how loud they would be.

we haven't had a monday night game in YEARS.. and they've been boozing since 6 pm

this is a HUGE anomaly.

But back in the 90's before ticket prices were outrageous there were a lot of games like this.

We lose this and a few more and not only will there be boatloads of empty seats, we'll have blackouts .. trust me, i've seen both sides of the coin.

Royals sell out opening day and have a great atmosphere too.... then... sucks

They have always been this way. Tailgate all weekend. Nothing else to do in that part of the country. Eat BBQ, drink lots of beer and watch football.

Arrowhead is one of the top 5 most intimidating places to play in the NFL. One of the best true home field advantages.

NO. It was only like this from '91-2003in the 80's it was a ghost stadium, and there's been poor attendence and decreased tailgating the past several years.today is not par for the course unless they start winning.. and even then the nfl ticket prices + HDTV have taken a lot of the blue collar loud drunks out of the stdium

Then I stand corrected. One of my favorite commercials of years past was the snickers bar and the guy painting the end zone. "That looks great... but who are the Chefs?" Great googly moogly..

The fans look like the fans in the movie the replacements. All drunk and ready to party.

The crowd is getting to San Diego pretty badly right now. Delay, delay, timeout, delay. Rivers is furious with Hardwick, the center.

I just assumed that ESPN was pumping up the volume of the crowd noise in the feed, to emulate the big college games with Nessler and co.

I definitely think they had the crowd mics up too high. Not that I'm against that, but you could hardly hear them call the game..

That game last night was awesome. Made me long for the days of the Vet. that place was intimidating. Yea it was a dank pit but it was OUR dank pit. The Linc has no attitude. Its just a field. There's barely any noise or ferocity. No home field advantage at all.
