I can't help but think that this guy still has a promising future at tailback, either with Denver or another team eventually via trade. I can't see the guy hanging around long term in Denver as a fullback.
M. Anderson and R. Droughns were both "FBs" in DEN before being moved to TB. It's not a demotion (vs. RB2) in the system IMO.
If Henry went down, I'd bet Bell gets more action than Slevin, etc. It's not the typical NFL FB role where they only hurl their bodies @ linebackers. And in TD heavy leagues (vs. HP) Bell might still be playable in a flex or bye week filler role if he gets the TDs that Kyle Johnson scored last year via the occasional goal line plunge or pass in the flat. IIRC Johnson scored about 5/6 last season.
So, no - I wouldn't drop Bell just yet. Unless you have some very nice options on the WW.
My thinking is that Bell was moved to FB so that he can get in the game more. Denver has one of the most heavily used FBs in the NFL from a fantasy perspective. Rollout pass to the FB at the goalline is a money play. With Mike Bell in there, they really have 2 RBs and it opens up the playbook even more.
If Travis Henry were to go down, who really knows what would happen. I think for that reason you hang onto any Denver backup RBs if you already have them in dynasty. Travis Henry does have some injury/suspension risk.
I'll give you some insight. Teams in need of running back depth: Indy, Texas, Seattle, San Fran, Ny Jets, TampaBay to name several will be contacting Denver as soon as one of their starters sustains an injury. A light was really shined on Indy when Addai went down breifly thursday, what if it was more serious do you think Kenton Keith would carry the load? Neither doesn Indy, I'd be surprised if teams weren't already working behind the scenes. I believe he will be moved befre the trade deadline arrives. Of course it also would't surperise me one bit if Henry went down that Bell would take over.
I've got Selvin Young, Mike Bell, and cecill sap on my dynasty roster. lol .... Its a pretty big roster so I can afford to have all three FOR NOW. But eventually I will have to drop one and i'm not sure which to drop. I guess it will be Cecill Sapp, but with Shanny who the heck knows.
