Is it time to drop Jordy Nelson? (1 Viewer)

Heard he's unlikely to play this weekend. Is it time to let him go so we have a roster spot freed up?
He did not practice today and will probably not play SundayMilwaukee Journal

We would have a hard time starting him in a championship game next week even if he does play.

These type questions are probably best taken to the AC Forum

I disagree. It's can serve as a good place for general Nelson news and to gauge a consensus of what owners are doing. I was flexing him and plan to hold.

That's my concern...whether its worth it to hold on to him one more week knowing he's been out for awhile now. Plus GB has a plethora of receiver options even without Jordy.

I guess the big question is: if he WERE to return next week, would you start him?

1. He would not have played in almost a month.

2. When he has played this season, other than the 3 TD game he has been a below average WR.

3. Twice this season this injury has flared up on the first play of the game and Nelson has shut it down for the entire game.

4. Green Bay is a running team now. In 3 of his past 5 games Rodgers has only had 14 completions. Think about that for a minute.

5. Green Bay just isn't a very good offensive team right now. This week I am sitting Rodgers, Finley, Nelson and Crosby, and probably next week as well.

week 4 8/93 TDweek 7 8/122 TD

week 12 2/77 TD

Yeah he's been banged up, but when hes healthy he has been productive. Your other points are spot on though.

Good point on the passing attempts. GB has TEN at home in week 16, so I wonder if throwing the ball will be that necessary. GB may just stash Jordy until the playoffs start.

I'm pretty liberal when it comes to what should and should not be posted in the AC vs SP. Guess it was the bolded. I think GB wants to be a balanced team so they are really making an effort to get the running game up to par with the passing game. I would be looking at other options especially if GB wins this weekend.

You forgot the other 6 weeks...Week 1 5/64 0 TD

Week 2 6/84 0 TD

Week 3 2/19 0 TD

Week 5 2/29 0 TD

Week 11 3/45 0 TD

Week 13 1/10 0 TD

Sorry, but even with the 3 TD game and the other three good games, in my League's scoring system he is ranked right around a low end #2 WR or high end #3. Without the 3 TD game he is a low end #3. And in my League, where we typically roster 4 WR's, that is "below average".

This is not the Jordy Nelson of 2011. Or Rodgers. Or Green Bay.
