Pour One Out For the Has-Beens & Never Was’s (1 Viewer)

Zac Stacy was useful to me in terms of some games I started him and things I traded him for.

It was a perfect storm of Jeff Fisher was going to give someone a lot of carries and all he had to beat out was I Peed.

Sure they drafted Gurley the following year but that was not really a surprise. He would use high picks on RB every year until he got a really good one.

Obviously drafted/held on to the following way more or longer than I should have:

CJ Spiller
Tyrone Calico
Isaiah Crowell
Zay Jones
Marcus Robinson

My OGs of guys I drafted before I even knew dynasty was a thing:

Napoleon Kaufman
Cam Cleeland

Lamont Jordan

Sat behind Curtis Martin for years then got his big chance by the Raiders as a FA, had one good volume-infused year and then disappeared.

Kevin Jones and D'Shaun Foster killed me in many leagues
Foster single handedly lost me a league championship. Well, him, and my own actions, of course.

LCG: 49ers starter is OUT, Foster to get the start.

Foster does pretty well, IIRC. Dude I benched goes ham for 100+ and 2 TD.

Some roster cloggers I plan on dropping this year
Isaiah Spiller
Hunter Renfrow
Darren Waller

Hoping to trade these guys instead of cutting
Deshaun Watson
Sky Moore
Rochon Johnson

I can't imagine anyone being willing to give up anything for Moore.

Looking at last year's results of my 10-team $250 cap auction, Moore went for $20.

I wonder if that's the same year (2004 I think?) where I sat Keenan McCardell for DeShaun Foster in the final. Foster did fine and got over 100 yards but McCardell went for like 120 and a TD and that was the difference in me winning the championship. I'll always remember that bad lineup decision as McCardell was money for me all year but Foster got me excited and I got cute in the final.

omg it was, and I ALSO sat Keenan for Foster, costing myself a LCG.

Aren’t we smart?

Yeah, should probably swap Moore and Renfrow's positions. Depending where/if he signs may get something out of it.

IIRC I followed the FBG rankings which suggested Foster. :lmao:

Jimmy Clausen. Number one high school player in his class, had a really solid career at ND and finished his final year with a 28 TD/4 Int stat line with buzz to likely be a first round pick. Drops to the 2nd and has a standardly meh rookie year starting for Carolina. Following season they draft Cam Newton and Clausen largely never recovered and floated a few years before being gone from the NFL.

Ryan Grant. His nickname amongst fans in college at Notre Dame was "Blade" because a blade of grass could trip him up. He surprised all of us in becoming a pro, had 3 solid years to start his career, and then disappeared into anonymity.

Great thread. I got all the feels.

I thought that RB class of Richardson, Doug Martin, and David Wilson was going produce a couple HOFers.
Wilson was so fun to watch. He could take a hit, have his whole upper body get thrown around, but somehow still stay upright from the waste down an keep going. But it turns out that skill is not great for vertebrae health...

I was going to mention Wilson. He was awesome when he was on the field.

I was a regular on a different site during the rise and fall of David Wilson. It was an epic train wreck of posters proclaiming him as a Wallter Payton and Barry sanders hybrid. The screams from the mountain top were legendary. Ha ha

I changed that emoji after I thought about Ronald Jones for a minute. We’ll never forget your eighty-yard run (or so), Ronald. You’ll be evergreen to us.
