Is Josh McDaniels the greatest coach in NFL history? (1 Viewer)

Curious what people think about Josh McDaniels... I think he's the answer to Denver's prayers. He's so smart and it looks like he's making all the right moves.

It's possible that he'll help rewrite the Bears passing record books, and he doesn't even run our offense. How many coaches can you say have positive impact on teams they don't even coach for? That puts him in a rare category with very few peers. Best ever? Maybe not yet. But best of our time might not be out of the question.

Half of them every sunday of the season
Yeah. But McDaniels has done it without even playing a game. He seems to combine the charity of Mother Teresa with the benign character attributes of Vlad the Impaler."Throughout his reign, Vlad systematically eradicated the old boyar class of Wallachia. The old boyars had repeatedly undermined the power of the prince during previous reigns and had been responsible for the violent overthrow of several princes. Vlad was determined that his own power be on a modern and thoroughly secure footing. In place of the executed boyars, Vlad promoted new men from among the free peasantry and middle class, who would be loyal only to their prince."After hearing the Knowshon Moreno story, it appears McDaniels also has the deep personal integrity of Richard Nixon."So after Moreno was selected I got a chance to hear him speak on Denver radio. The Kid gets asked if he knew precisely how much interest Denver had in him, or if he knew they were going to pick him. The Kid's answer was that he had never spoken to Denver. Half an hour later McDaniels is interviewed and he goes on and on about what a bright kid and teriffic human being the kid was during all of their meetings with him and that he was certain, because of that, that this was the correct choice. So we have the kid saying he never spoke with Broncos or DMcDaniel, and McDaniel vouching for the kid personally." (from Ditkaless Wonders).

Too bad really, John Denver seemed a helluva guy.

To be fair, it doesn't sound like the two never spoke on any occasion, just that they didn't speak prior to drafting Moreno (didn't phone him). Surely they worked him out and had met with him in weeks leading up to the draft.

He's a record setter (speed-wise) as far as coming in and dismantling a team. How many RB's do they currently have? Do they have any defensive players?

No - they didn't sign like 8 defensive players in FA or draft 2 defensive starters in their first 3 picks. The team is completely dismantled.

Why do Patriots fans defend this guy so much? Was he one of the cameramen during the "glory" days of yesteryear?

Anything wrong in my post?

Please somebody go and dismantle the Raiders!!!!! I'm not a fan but if dismantling makes you 3-0 and competitive...they sure could use a lot ot it.
His team remains undefeated.
And still. After actually playing.

His team remains undefeated.
The Broncos have played the Bengals the Browns and the Raiders. Whoaaaaaa! Big accomplishment there! They have yet to play a decent opponent. The Browns are in free-fall, they played the Bengals when Palmer still had a lot of rust, and the Raiders...nuff said. When they play a decent team and win I'll sit up and take notice. They still have a problem scoring points and their passing game is just plain stinky. I don't know whether McDummy will stay or not, but he for sure needs to draft a QB next year. Kyle Orton ain't cuttin the mustard.
You realize the comment your are responding was posted in April right? I beleive it was a joke.

I think you have made the mistake in assuming that I'm a competent and rational adult. I have never claimed that...nor is there any evidence that it's the truth. In other words no I didn't realize it and I'm the biggest idiot currently posting on these forums. I'll now go back in my cave and bask in my overt stupidity. But thank you for stopping me before I could make and even bigger fool of myself. May be I should edit that post.

Looks like boy blunder isn't even smart enough to give the illusion that he's got what it takes. In order to extend his HC life, all he has to do is insert Tebow and proclaim the start of a successful rebuilding program.

Better to wait until next year before showing if Tebow has the goods. There are a lot of veterans on D, they most likely will see that as McDaniels giving up and just tune him out all together. Another risk is that Tebow starts the last 8 games and is a total bust, he might not get next year.
