Is Larry Fitzgerald Still A Top 12 WR Talent Wise?

I ask because somebody listed out prototypical #1 WRs in the Gallup thread I think, but I don't think I saw Fitz listed there. IIRC, here's the list of who all was there.

AB
Julio
OBJ
Demariyus
AJ Green
Hopkins
Mike Evans

I'm probably missing someone since I'm blanking a little, but that's not a bad list at all.

These are genuine questions, topics, thoughts, concerns, comments, etc..
Some, most, maybe all are.  That doesn't mean they all need a thread started over the course of one day.

It's excessive.  it's been pointed out to you already.  It's flooding the board and it's getting obnoxious.

Welcome, participate, contribute, but seriously, give it a rest.  Not every passing thought needs a thread.

Agreed, there are many thoughts that can go into existing threads. I guess I could have asked this question in the existing Fitzgerald thread, but then I wouldn't have been able to set a poll.

With that said though, please let me know if I am violating any rules. That's definitely not my intention.

Well there is a Larry Fitzgerald thread already, correct? Couldn’t you have asked this there?

this isn’t “breaking news” requiring a new topic, just because it interests you.

I can do that, but no poll option, and things start to digress quickly.

But I'd be OK with that if a mod/admin feels like this thread isn't necessary.

@Joe Bryant  I will pay for a subscription, and will pay for a random person's subscription if you boot this guy for good. If you want people to come to the SP, and be swayed to subscribe (based on your recent threads, that's the impression I'm getting), Getting rid of this trash would be a good start.

That's not being very excellent to people dude.  His posts stink I agree.  Just put him on ignore.  Poof they are gone.  And if enough people stop responding to him he'll go away.  Personal attacks don't belong here.

I agree he starts a lot of threads, but this one seemed to be a pretty good topic

And I’d say yes. He is still one of the top skilled WRs in the league. He could continue to play for a few more years at this level if he wanted to.

Can you please, for the love of God, stop starting so many threads?

Give it a rest.
Just ignore him and move along.  If his posts are useless, they will drop off of the first page and be forgotten.

To answer the OP, he's very much a WR1 in redraft, and I'm coming around on the idea that he's going to play another 6-8 years at this level.  (only somewhat facetious)

He’s talks a lot about retirement. I think he’ll cal it a career well before his physical expiration date, which I agree could be a few years down the road.

Larry Fitz is a sure HOFer, and in any kind of PPR he's an easy volume play. But unless you like 9 YPC in your top 12, going to have to go with no, from a talent perspective, he's not a top 12 WR in the league. He may be a top 12 fantasy play, depending on the scoring method. No knock on Fitz either, but he's not stretching defenses. He could still be the best receiver in the league in traffic though.

I don’t think YPR says anything about talent. He plays the slot, so of course his YPR is going to be lower than guys who play on the outside.

Wouldn’t “best receiver in the league in traffic” qualify as talent?

Let's do this. You can start a max of one thread per day. And it needs to be a really good one. I've had several people complain about the volume of threads you start. Let's try a max of one per day and it needs to be really good. Thanks.

Agreed. Please don't make it personal @Jello_Biafra  I do agree with you though he should dial it back some. I told him to.

Ok. How long we doing that for?

I don't get it, I mean Lone star isn't being a super know it all jerk kinda poster like some people....

nothing wrong with this fitz thread.....

The problem with Fitz is the end is coming....new qb, new coach, new OC, and the wall comes and it comes fast, ill pass on him for an ADP around 12....

Basically a more talented, more recognized Jarvis Landry.

I think a question on "talent" is pretty vague since neither age nor mileage have anything to do with talent. Fantasy wise, I think he'll generally be underdrafted (again) and overproduce (again).

Brains count as talent too.

Yes he is absolutely a top 12 talent. His game was never predicted on speed, it's always been about precision, amazing body control, hand-eye coordination and smarts. And he still has all of those, in spades.

And most of the anti @the lone star rhetoric is far worse than his penchant for talking too much. I don't think I have seen him make even one personal attack or even a snarky comment. Heck I can't even say that about my own treatment of tls. @Joe Bryant has always preached that we be excellent to each other but if you can't manage that how about going with "Don't be a jerk"

Thanks man, I appreciate it.

In regards to being snarky, I think the worst I've done is tell someone to stay classy, lol. That's always up to the eye of the beholder though.

Do you have a definition for "really good" or examples? That would help me out quite a bit.

Hope your weekend is going well man.

Thanks.

A good start would be to post in the Official thread and if it gains enough traction to be a distraction in that thread then consider spinning it off in its own thread.

That's fair, but sometimes, it is such a distraction, that the thread never fully recovers. Or at least that's what I've noticed in the forum that I mod.

And just so people understand, we're actually encouraged to create new threads and content on that forum.

Official threads here are survivors.

Yeah, we got a handful of those over on the other forum. Not as many official player threads though. We usually only set those up for perennial all-stars and such.

You are killing this forum.  Slowly, but surely.

Go put the same stupid limitation on Rockaction in the FFA/PSF

I think the question should be is L Fitzgerald fantasy relevant with S Bradford/J Rosen?
This is the first Lone Star thread that I think is pretty good.

Also, what are the consequences for posting more than one per day?

And are we just talking about the Shark Pool, or forum-wide?
Dude, take every question you have for Joe to email or IM. Stop cluttering the thread and the forum.

I don't know why I bother to post that, because you are clearly doing it intentionally.
