Is NOW the time to buy Willis McGahee? (1 Viewer)

I've been eyeing Willis McGahee's 2nd half schedule for a while now, and I've got to say it looks sweet especially for playoff time.

Upcoming Schedule: (Rush Def Rank)

NE (8th)

BYE

GB (15th)

@ Ind (31st)

@ Hou (25th)

Jax (12th)

SD (1st)

@NYJ (28th) --Playoff

Miami (11th) --Playoff

Tennessee (32nd) -- Playoff

His last 3 games... 78, 50, 66 Yards rushing and 1 TOTAL TD.

Is now the time to buy low on McGahee or is 70 yards a game about what we can expect the rest of the way?

Screw him. He's left us high and dry for game after game. I'm tired of him being carried by reputation alone. I'd rather own twenty other RBs ahead of him.

owning him is getting frustrating, but there is no way im selling low. I own him in both my leagues. If i didnt, i probably would target him.

I guess you haven't watch him play this year.
Yes, he's dazzling. And he's getting outscored 2 to 1 by Travis Henry on the Tennessee Titans. I don't care if he runs pretty, he is a fantasy turd.

The bottom line is the guy is not scoring much. He runs for a good amount of yards but has scored like 2 TD's over his last 16 games and does not catch a lot of passes. His name gets him drafted and valued higher than he should be.

Id like to bump this again for more opinions.

If he has a rough week vs New England and then his Bye week is he a "must buy?"

It's partly going to depend on the health of thier line. They were below average to begin with with nearly no depth and now two more starters might be out this week. They could have a REAL tough time pass/run blocking with their patchwork line.....

This has been the main source of frustration with McGahee the last couple years. On talent, IMO he's a top 5 RB. No RB does exceptionally well without a good line - except those who are also the best receiving threat on their team (LT). There's little doubt in my mind that if Buffalo ever improves their line, he's an elite RB, even in FF. So yes, if you can acquire him in dynasty leagues without selling the farm, I would.

Let me ask another way (and Hope I dont get scolded for not posting this question in the AC board)

Would you take McGahee the rest of the way over Laurence Maroney or Tatum Bell?

If your RB's are the suck, sure, but the potential for big numbers just isn't there due to Losman.
Actually my RBs are quite good, LT and Chester but I currently have Maroney in the Flex spot and I would like to upgrade it. I have 5 good WRs and we start 3 so I can package one with Maroney for a stud RB for the flex spot.I have my foot on the league's throat and I would like to finish the job

I'd take him over Maroney, but not Bell.
I've got them:BellMcGaheeMaroneyMaroney slips because of Dillon's presence...what I wonder if where you guys would put Caddy on that list...

If that's the case, you can get someone better than McGahee for Maroney + good WR. Try getting Kevin Jones or Frank Gore.

Due to OL woes and bye in week 8, I just traded McGahee for Alexander hoping he's back as expected in week 9. My RB1 is Tiki and I have Maroney until Alexander healthy. McGahee just not a versatile enough RB to be GREAT on a BAD team.
