Is Now the Time to Sell Calvin Johnson? (2 Viewers)

Pull the trigger. Gordon is supremely talented and younger. In Calvins defense, he mentioned on twitter that he was still dealing with the ankle. I expect him to be fine. A few months ago we were worried about Rodgers and Brady. We see how that turned out. Relax.
Very true about Calvin, you make a solid point. I think this could be a win win kinda deal for both of us really. Which is good to see every once in a while.

Lots of stupid going on in here. A healthy Calvin will be in the Top 3 of all WR's the rest of the season. He has not lost a step. He is not a low-end WR2.
Please feel free to further educate us stupid folks then. You're saying it is the injury?

I apologize for being so stupid. I guess I'm still getting used to the New Megatron that jogs off the line and has defenders in his hip pocket.

Also, I may be stupid, but I have yet to see an athlete that can outrun Father Time. I certainly feel the on-field performance opens the conversation.

Again, my apologies for being so stupid.
Update?

the dude did apologize

 @ Milkman.

Calvin: 11/146/2 with almost a full quarter left. It's easier to admit you're wrong. It's OK, we all are at some point.

In Milkman's defense, Calvin HAS lost a step. In the past he would have turned in three touchdowns instead of two.

10,000

The number of career receiving yards surpassed by Calvin Johnson in the second quarter. Johnson is the quickest receiver to reach 10,000 yards in NFL history. Johnson reached 10,000 yards in 115 games, breaking Torry Holt's record by one game. He is now 43rd on the NFL's all time receiving list, with Shannon Sharpe next up at 10,060 yards. He is the only receiver in Lions history to reach the mark.

42

The number of 100-yard receiving games Johnson now has in his career. That ties Cris Carter for 15th all-time.

Lol milkman is so butt blasted. Get over it, you were wrong. There are plenty of Calvin owners going to the play offs with a soft schedule coming up for Megatron.

Calvin Johnson's two touchdowns against the Bears brought his career total for Thanksgiving Day to eight, breaking the mark previously established by Cloyce Box. Yes, Cloyce Box.

He has lost a step. Listen to some of the things people have said defending Calvin. He has had some bad match ups. The Calvin of a couple years ago didn't have bad match ups, he was too good. He also tore up the Bears, look at the stats, everyone tears up the Bears. All that said he is still a top 10 fantasy receiver this year and next, but it used to be Calvin and then everyone else, that isn't the case anymore.

 2010 vs Revis 1 catch on 4 targets for 13 yards. Must have lost a step back then too, huh?

he was hurt lunatic.

Is Calvin a 1st round pick next year in redrafts? I don't think he is right now but if he just destroys everybody the rest of the year maybe.

So he was still hurt last week and against the Cardinals, but magically got healthy on a short week? It had nothing to do with the Bears? If you don't think a 30 year old Calvin with 10 years in the league hasn't lost a step than you are the lunatic. Like I said before he is still easily a top 10 receiver, he just isn't the unquestioned best receiver in the league anymore.

I wouldn't take him in the first next year, even if he does destroy the league the rest of the year. Counting today, he had the Bears twice, the Bucs, the Vikings for the fantasy playoffs. That is about as easy as it gets.

That's kind of my feeling to. The best WR ever. Still a clear WR1 going into next year but he's not the unquestioned best WR in the game anymore.

Keep trying to convince yourself of this daisy. But it won't make it true. He just turned 29, not 30. In the middle of his prime. You say the Calvin of a couple years ago didn't have bad matchups. How about 2 matchups during his 1,900 yard season against Peanut Tillman and the Bears? Totals of 8 receptions on 25 targets for 106 yards and zero TDs. Not to mention a 3-reception, 46-yard performance against Seattle's Browner and Sherman. He can be shut down. But he's not fallen back to the pack yet. And I'm not buying the "his body is breaking down" argument either. He had a high ankle sprain. Ever had one? It takes some time to rehab to return to full strength.

Last week was all Calvin's fault Daisy?
No. It never is ALL one persons fault, but 2 or 3 years ago Calvin could over come a bad match up more times than not or even bad quarterback play. He still can on some days, but in my opinion we have seen the best he has to offer for a season, and he isn't the unquestioned best receiver in the game anymore.

I didn't look up his age so sorry I was off a year. Keep telling yourself he is going into his prime. 29 year olds that have 8 years in the league aren't going into their prime. Your prime in football is a lot younger, with the exception of maybe quarterbacks. Anyone can have a bad game, my point, that obviously flew way over your head, was that Calvin had a better chance of producing in a bad match up than anyone else in the league. That isn't the case anymore.

Lastly about his injury, I am not talking about the high ankle sprain. Rumors have been flying for 2 years now that his knees are bad and only getting worse.

Nothing flew over my head. Didn't say he was entering his prime. he's in it though. Do some actual research - most receivers best years are at and around his age (early 30s, really) - and cite something other than rumors. You're just another guy wanting to be right at the expense of the facts.

I am done arguing with you about. I gave my opinion. I don't care if you like it. I might be right and I might be wrong, it won't be the first or last time on either.

Yes Calvins been hurt , Stafford hasn't played the best either, along with new scheme.

(all of that has brought Calvin down, still one of if not the best WR's out there today)

Also anyone banking on 1 player making there fantasy team relevant isn't very good.

If you can't make the playoffs because 1 guy on your team got hurt or didn't play well. (then you didn't build a competent team)

Ya know, even if he's lost a step, big deal. He's 4.35 speed coming into the NFL so losing a step puts him with who? Well he's still be faster than Larry Fitzgerald in HIS prime.
